Help with Website Tracking

Hey CP! I'd like to be able to track downloads on my website. I use dropbox as my storage location and post links, like we do here in CP.

Any suggestions on a simple download counter?

Dropbox doesn't seem to offer any kind of hit counter, and to use it you'd have to write a program to interface with the API to get the info to display anyway.

Better would be to use something like http://bitly.com/

Make the links to your downloads through bitly, and then bitly will track how many clicks and all kinds of stats.

google analytics + redirect page

redirect page being http://www.site.com/redirect.html?pa...ww.dropbox.com

that way ga would track the redirect.html page

We have a website at work that uses Google Analytic tracking and I could never get it to properly track file downloads. I will be trying that out for sure.
