Default Can I run it? Elder Scrolls 5 question.

Sorry this might belong in the video game thread, but I am looking for advice so I wanted to make a new one to make sure more people see it. If that is selfish of me I apologize.

I used the website:

http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri/intro.aspx

To check and see if I can run Elder Scrolls 5 on my computer. I am not sure how accurate this site is, but it was suggested on one of the review sites... probably a plug but whatever. Anyone have a better site to try out?

I am about 40% between minimum and recommended, would you guys in your experience attempt to the play the game in these settings? Or is it going to be so frustrating on such low graphics it will kill the game play settings for me?

Thanks.

I am running it, in 800x600 and it is somewhat frustrating, but that is because my video card sucks - where as yours is a lot better. I run a Quad core chip, but in all other ways, our computers are the same. I assume that Skyrim doesn't tap heavily enough into my other cores that it will be a game breaker for you. I would certainly be hesitant to pay for a game that I wasn't sure would run - so maybe 'borrow' a copy to be sure before you plunk down $60.

I dunno, is the 6800 better than my 5700 series?

Other specs are similar to mine, CPU is a tad lower. I run the game on Medium-Medium High settings on 1680x1050 with no problems.

You can add a mod to unlock the memory limit on the game as well. It will only use up to 2 gigs of virtual memory but with the mod it will boost it up to 4gigs.

Linky

I think there is a mod on there that also assists lower end computers. It's based from Oblivion and it works great from what I hear. It's not in the top 25 so I'm not sure where it is but it shouldn't be too hard to find.

Just to follow up on this, I picked up a Raedon HD6770 yesterday and the game runs superbly on high settings
