Default Canadian Black Friday Sale Thread - 2011

Just kicking off a thread to discuss deals for the upcoming weekend of sales for 2011.

I think most know about http://www.redflagdeals.com/ - which has a pretty comprehensive list of sales.

Dell Days are on going.

So just a place on CP to discuss Deals or ask if anyone know where you can find "insert item here"...

I put in Tech as I usually look for tech related products more than say snowblowers... but if it makes sense to move to off topic please do...

Great idea.

Was wondering what deals there would be tomorrow.

I'd look for door crashers... you didn't specify any specific features you wanted or anything... so if its just price I'd take a look at the red flag deals site and check out the black Friday section.

I noticed Bestbuy's section is not up yet... not sure what they are waiting for but they usually have a good selection of TV's on sale... keep an eye on that...

Boooo! Had I suspected a price drop so soon, I'd have waited.

I'm hoping this bad boy drops below 2 grand so I can finally pick up a TV for my bonus room.

Yah, in all honesty I don't see it going that low, but figured I'd hope for the best. I may have to wait until next year. With Sharp just releasing an 80 inch LED, I'm hoping this will speed up the drop in price of their 70 inch models.

I split out some posts; just to keep the thread about the various deals.

Nobody's fault; just wanted to keep this thread on track.

Great thread.

I'm in the market to pick up an Xbox360 console. My old one finally bit the dust. Anyone see any exceptional deals out there?

The best deal I've seen per RedFlagDeals was at Sears who is offering a 4gb Xbox360 console + controller + Kinnect for $189.99. That's a pretty good deal, but I'm not crazy about the Kinnect.

I plan on outfitting the console with my existing 12gb HD.

Any ideas?

Thanks Ken. Sorry didn't mean to derail. I do have some questions that I will try and keep on topic RE: deals, not specific TVs.

When do these deals start? In my other thread (now split) it appears that the sale on that Samsung ends today.

Will there be better sales tomorrow? I noticed Futureshop and BestBuy aren't listed on Redflagdeals yet.

I could even wait until boxing day. I rarely do Black Friday/Boxing Day shopping so I'm not sure what is the best deal day.

I don't need the TV until mid January when I take possession of my new place.

Most sales will begin tomorrow. Some will be Friday only, some have specific deals for Fri, Sat and Sun and some are week long sales. But as for will they be better? Its impossible to know for sure if they are not pre-advertised.

I do not understand why bestbuy/Future shop (same company) are not on Red Flag yet... their flyers have to be out... there must be a legal issue going on... but I'm guessing.

I'd be willing to bet you will be able to find the samsung deal again before you need it. Not bet the TV, but like a coffee... lol

Anyone notice any good deals on handheld GPS's (ones that track trails/backroads)?

Something like: https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?cID=145&pID=63350

I've found a good deal at Cabelas in the USA but they will not ship to Canada.

I don't know enough about what each model does to know if I have seen a good deal on one that will do what you need. I know when I was looking for a GPS unit I found tons of good information here

http://forums.gpsreview.net/viewforum.php?f=30

Including posts about which models would take after market trail maps and updates.

GPS City (gpscity.ca) here in town has some good prices for Black Friday.

450 - $229.95
450 - $289.95 (with dvd with Canadian topographical maps)
450T - $409.95

After a quick look, this looks to be as good or if not better than Cabelas.

Need a new head unit for my car, doesn't have to be anything special, but this has bluetooth:

Any experience with Visions for install? What should I pay to have it installed (the current head unit is already aftermarket so I already have a wiring harness for that unit installed)?

ToysRUs looks like it has some decent deals tomorrow, they have a 1/2 price flyer out.

Look on the last page of the Home Theatre Megathread for advice on that.
