Default XBOX Live Purchase confirmation

Has anyone else ever had this happen? I just received three emails from XBOX stating that I purchased 6000 MS points for $87.00.

I havent played my xbox since Sunday and it said i ordered it today.

Log into xbox.com/live and it will show your balance and you can go to recent transactions. If you were indeed charged I would call Microsoft right away. If you weren't its some kind of scam email.

Did they reverse? Account compromised? Sometimes the email tells you the IP of where it came from, if it did you can run a location search.

looks like an account compromise, they will contact me in the next 72 hours to reverse the charges and my account is frozen from purchases.

I have changed my password.

Somthing similar happened to me, I received an email from xbox about a purchase also. But becuase I took all my credit card information off of live they couldn't actually charge me, and I only got 1 email. I assumed it was 16 month old messing around with the DVD remote as he's wont to do and managed to try and buy some MS points. After reading this though I'll be changing my login pw.

Thank god my CC info wasn't on there.

I remember when I paid for XBOX live with my credit card. After the year was over, it automatically renewed for another year..
had to remove the credit card from the website to fix the problem.

Same thing happened to my son's account a couple of months back. Had 2 charges; 5000 points and 1000 or 1500 points. The Live account was connected to Paypal. I contacted Paypal first to have it reversed then called Xbox. The account was frozen from purchases but we got that removed.

Will only use those cards you buy at the stores now.

Similar thing happened to me a few months ago. Was resolved almost immediately. Not fun though.

Ugh, this just happened to me. 3 emails about a purchase of 6000 points each. I look at my history and the d-bags buy a Fifa Online Pass and then 147 Premium Gold Packs? How does that not raise flags with Microsoft? Maybe I'm mistaken and it's normal for people to spend $273 on one game's online content.

Anyway, the lady told me my account could be locked for 25 days while they investigate! Ridiculous and awful.

EDIT: According to XBox.com they are using my account right now to play Fifa. Ugh, gotta get home from work.

That sucks, I was able to call early enough to have all purchases frozen. Called last night again to set up unauthorized access and my account is locked for upto 30 days now, can't log into anythign with the same windows ID. I also called my credit card company and they have reversed the charges already and are sending me a new card. Such a pain in the ass, at least i still get the credit for the time off of live added on after its unfrozen

I'm just happy that i happen to check my email on my phone almost everytime it vibrates and caught it early, as they said it is quicker if the points havent been spent, which mine haven't been.

FYI, I got my account back today. Only 10 days after it happened, much better than the 25 days they quoted. My Visa has been credited and I got two free months of XBox Live Gold as well. As I figured, my case was very cut and dry since I called within hours of being attacked, so it was clear what was not my doing.

They scared the crap out of me though, because I got a password reset email from Windows Live about 5 minutes before the XBox Customer Support email. I thought I someone was trying to take over my account again.

My accounts seems to be all wacked out too. I tried to purchase a year of gold on my xbox itself and it gives me some stupid error message. I then tried to go online on the xboxlive.com site and when I try and purchase it I get told I tried to 'trick' the system and it won't let me proceed. WTF??? I then updated my creditcard information and it tells me it's declined. Again, WTF??? So my only option is to purchase a gold card at a store.

I'd call Xbox directly and ask them what's going on.

I guess the reason mine is taking so long is that the hackers successfully moved the account overseas to the Czech Republic. It doubles the resolution time.
