SOLD: Nook Color Android 2.3 Tablet / e-Reader with Case & 8GB uSD card: $225!!
Sold! Thanks old-fart!
Barnes & Noble Nook Color e-Reader with book cover-style case. This is only about 10 weeks old and in mint condition. You can't get these in Canada. Save yourself the duty and shipping and then some!
With stock software, this is the best e-reader on the market. Comes with:
- stunning 1024x600 IPS 7" display
- 8GB internal memory + 8GB uSD = 16GB (expandable to 40GB via micro SD card)
- 800Mhz CPU
- WiFi
- 512MB Ram
I will install a full Android 2.3 operating system on the Nook Color (assuming you want it) which makes this a full-blown Android tablet! That's how I run it and it's outstanding. I switch between several e-reader apps (Kindle, Nook, Aldiko), have full access to the Android Market, use facebook/twitter, etc.
This is, in my opinion, the best tablet deal going. First $225 takes it!

+1 super awesome affordable tablet. If Mick roots it and puts a cool kernel and rom on there, it's one of the best out there for the price. Better screen than iPad, good size to hold and read. Fast processor and does 3D well. The stock software is useless since you can't use the B&N store in Canada.
Unfortunately, I rooted and gave mine to my parents to use and I would buy this one for myself if I had the cash.

Actually you can without too much difficulty, but there's really no reason not to use the full-fledged Android.

How? You need a US address and US credit card on file with B&N to get anything.

Actually they only check for the US address, they don't check if the credit card's address is in the US. So I put in a random (real) US shipping address, and I can just use my CC to buy books.
Having said that, it's very easy to put CM 7 on it. Although I have to say that it's not as smooth as I'd like (sometimes it would freeze and require a hard boot). All and all, I'm happy with it.

Which nightly were you using? I haven't had any freezing issues for a very long time.
Everything since N90 or so has been solid. The deep sleep support is awesome, it can standby for weeks without a charge.

I was playing with the idea of getting one of these, and rooting it. I got a 16GB ipad instead. However, in reflection, I use it mostly for web surfing. So I totally agree, and if I did not have my iPad I would take it off your hands right now.
Very, very good deal for a tablet.

I have N107. I notice the freezing problem typically happens when i manually hit the sleep/power button on the top left, then sometimes i won't be able to "wake" it up properly without the 10-sec reset. Lately I have left the device to hibernate by itself, and that seems to alleviate that problem.

Thank you Mick... haven't played with it yet (damn work) but will screw around with it tonight and provide some feedback on it.
Thanks though for a quick clean easy transaction. Always a pleasure dealing with other CP folks.
