Default NHL Gamecenter / PS3

Now with the regular season over, I was hoping that people who have subscribed to NHL Gamecenter and streamed it over the PS3 app could comment on the service.

My cable provider's Center Ice feed is atrocious (sub-standard def) and I think it is time to stop rewarding them with a subscription. The PS3 app for Gamecenter looks good, and will appear to give me HD and DVR capabilities so those are benefits.

But any feedback on connection issues / streaming quality / etc... would be very helpful to me.

Thank you.

Gamecenter itself is great...the ps3 app...not so much.

Riddled with problems. Games start late (12 minutes in the first period, the ps3 stream activates), often needing to reinstall the app since it doesn't load (others have this issue on PS forums)..

graphics sometimes glitch...

this may be fixed for next season, but it sucked this season.

edit: i should say, when it worked, it worked relatively well.

I have it both on my Roku player as well as my PS3. Early on in the season the feeds were nearly unwatchable, but as the season progressed they started releasing updates for the app and the video quality was much improved. One would expect that they will continue to improve the app for next season.

Personally I will be renewing my nhl gamecenter live subscription.

Also I can't remember a game that didn't come through in HD on this service.

I subscribe to mlbtv and watch it on my PS3. The quality is about 95% of watching it live on an HD channel like TSN. I watched so many games on it that I didn't even notice that TV was a little better until a Giants game was on it one night.

Compare this to NHL's version, and it is night and day. I tried watching two Flames games on my PS3 as I wasn't able to watch them live and Shaw's PVR won't let me fast forward commercials. The quality was so poor whenever there was movement on the ice I stopped watching it.

I also couldn't just go to the start of the game and/or period, as the skip buttons never worked.

I had gamecenter live on my PC this year through HDMI onto my TV and the quality was slightly below HD, but way better than what my cable company provides.

One thing that the NHL needs to work on a little is the frame rate. 90% of the time it is fine, but it just isn't as smooth as a cable channel. It could be my computer, but I noticed it on all of the computers I tried it with. Flash 10.2 helped.

I think the product is good, but with a few tweaks, it could be great.

I would love an Xbox 360 app.

Gamecenter is awesome. The feeds can be a little choppy on the PS3, but one gamecenter account works on your PS3, PC and iPad, which is really awesome.

I have had great experiences with it on my PS3. Only issue is the glitchiness of when it shows up. Sometimes randomly the hilights won't load too, but I'm sure updates will come to fix it.
