				 Jarome Iginla's crazy workout routine

			http://www.muscleprodigy.com/jarome-...arcl-1245.html

Guys a beast. Thought this would be a good read for Flame fans. I'm a HUGE Iginla fan so I just love sharing articles on him.

I am new to this forum, thought i'd say whatup and look forward to being a big member one day! Never been a part of a Flames forum or really any forum in general but I need a place to vent/praise people, haha.

-Dan

ps: Since i'm a new member I can't post it on the main forum. If someone could do that for me it would be much appreciated. Thanks guys!

I wonder if he works out too hard? Could this explain his slow starts?
Gretzky didn't work out at all.

he should spend more of that time training on the ice. get the bands that go around your legs instead of doing so many squats, in fact I am surprised he does so much heavy lifting. It's counter intuitive.

You definately know more about hockey training than one of the best players of all time and his associated top-flight hockey training staff.

He should probably try adding a little protein to his diet.Quote:

		| • FIRST BREAKFAST- Before training, Iginla eats a bowl of raisin bran.
 • SECOND BREAKFAST- After training, Iginla has a protein shake (half cup blueberries, banana, half cup of 1% milk, 50 grams of protein powder, spoonful of peanut butter).

 • LUNCH- Two buffalo burgers on a bun; lettuce, tomato. Why? "They're leaner than hamburgers," Iginla says.

 • SNACK- Protein bar (30 grams) and fruit. Over the course of a day Iginla ate 2 1/2 pounds of fruit. "In Kelowna [B.C., where he lives] cherries were everywhere.... That's where I got most of my carbs."

 • DINNER- Baked halibut, white rice and green beans. "After dinner I'd probably have another protein bar."

 • BEFORE BED- Protein powder (30 grams) mixed with water.

It's really all about that spoonful of peanut butter. You take that away, and he averages maybe 20 goals a season tops.

It doesn't really go into much detail on his workout.

			FOI Forum?
Off Topic is specifically for threads not related to the Calgary Flames. Why would someone in Off Topic care about how hard Jarome works out. It obviously hasnt helped him this year and oh yah he gets paid 7mil to work hard.

Neither he or any other professional athlete deserve my praise for him getting paid to workout.

Does he still run with the parachute tied behind him?.....anyone ever see someone doing this? Who would win a tractor tire flip off between him and Camalleri? Didn't he used to go up to Canmore to mountain bike with Ference in the summers? That is likely how Chelios was able to play into his late 40's....

It's worth noting that a lot of that information is from 2005 and came from here:http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/200...010/index.html
Edit: Not a shot at the OP, thanks for posting.

Nothing that unusual about his workout, considering he is a world class athlete. Other disciplines need more, others need less. The modern NHLer puts a major emphasis on training (compared to running the track at Stampede Park).
