I don't about that. It's possible that Maesters know things and keep secrets from everyone that's not a Maester. Maybe Rhaeger and Lyanna had a secret marriage that was registered by the Maesters as well as John's birth? I mean if incest is okay for a Targaryen, why not polygamy? John could be the legitimate King of Westeros.

Game of Thrones coming to network television

https://www.thestar.com/entertainmen...medium=twitter

Game of Thrones is coming to CTV.

In what it says is the first North American airing of the hit show on network television, CTV announced Thursday it will broadcast Season 1 in August.

The 10 episodes will air consecutive Monday to Friday evenings beginning Aug. 8 at 10 p.m.

The episodes will air unedited with reduced commercial time, CTV says, which is significant because of the series’ graphic content, including nudity, sexuality and plenty of violence.

That's pretty surprising that CTV would air Game of Thrones unedited. The first season especially has some almost pornographic scenes.

CTV aired The Sopranos unedited after 10pm, and that was at least 15 years ago.

He wouldn't have an information network in place to hear the news - and when he did have one in place, no one who knew the information (if there even were any others who knew, such as handmaidens or squires) would think to deal it to him for anything. "Hey, I have a secret from years ago about people who are dead. Wanna buy it from me?"

Speculation about this is going to continue to happen until the show concludes. But I remain convinced that for this secret to stay buried for all these years, great measures were taken to ensure that no one outside of Ned and Howland knew enough about the specifics of what went down at the Tower of Joy to piece together how it relates to Jon.

Ned and Howland might be the only ones who knew about the Tower of Joy events, but pregnancy lasts 9 months...

There's a reason she was being held in an isolated tower. Some perceived it as kidnapping, but it was to hide the fact she was pregnant.

There were a minimal amount servants there who may not even have known who they were serving.

There's still 9 months, midwives, nurses, etc of servants who could have known. Point is, there's lots of opportunity for more than just two people to have known

Jesus. I don't know where my head was, but I just assumed it was revealed Jon was Ned Stark's sister's child or something. Didn't pick up on the Targaryen angle.

This is why binge-watching in one sitting is better!!

Goddam it you guys.

I didn't read this thread since before the finale. Now after reading a couple hundred posts of discussion I feel compelled to go back and watch it from season 1.

Thanks a lot. You all ruined my summer.

With next season starting later, I would hold off for a while. If you even watch an average of one episode a night you'll be done in September and with talks of them pushing the premiere date back you may even end up waiting for close to a year.

They have to film in winter mostly, so they aren't going to start until November or so for most of the shooting instead of August. I'd expect the start to be towards the end of May next year or June. Probably won't be much of a big deal due to them having only 7 episodes.

They'd better be seven 90 minute episodes.

Ha.... no.
We started from the beginning after the finale, and watched Rains of Castamere as of last night - so pretty much half done.
Mind you, we sit on the deck summer evenings/nights and watch TV/movies/sports projected onto house wall - so I guess we get to enjoy both summer and GOT at the same time.
Despite knowing exactly what happens, it's fantastic the second time.
