I wouldn't do a crazy extension for either Wolf or Coronato.
In theory it makes sense, but money changes people. It is a lot of extra expectation for a 21 year old.
While it might cost a bit more down the road, I think bridge contracts are the way to go.
I love both of them but it's been half a season. The NHL game is hard to achieve consistency.
Give them a fighting chance and don't go stupid with too much money too early.
That's my take anyways. Hope I'm wrong, they sign them long term and absolutely crush it. But we shall see.

When guys like Slafovksky are singing 7 year packages after 50 point seasons it will be hard to justify bridge deals for any of our players.
With the fear everyone has of players wanting to bolt right away this might be our last chance to tie them up for 8 years because once the bridge expires we will have a new landscape.

When guys "like" Slafovksky are 19 years old putting up 50 points?

Yes. What’s the issue here ?
Didn’t you just say Treliving wasn’t signing guys to the max term? What’s the issue with singing these guy? They are producing and will cost money to keep.

No, the opposite. Your comments seemed dismissive of the player.

What is your intention here? Leading ahl scorer plays for the flames. Yes I want to see that

No I’m using him as a comparable. These guys are what 2 years older.
We can bridge them and walk them to feee agency because term limits will be reduced in the next CBA. Or we can sign them and pay up. I said 8x7 for both Zary and Coronato. Wolf is playing himself into a double digit AAV.
No 5 or 6 year deals. I don’t want Andersson situation. Let’s go 8 years and pay we have the cap space.

Imagine laughing when it was suggested that Coronato Wolf and Zary will eat up all 20M in cap space.

Just like Scheiffle isnt a #1 C or Morrisey isnt a #1 D, or Ward quit on his team or...etc etc etc.
LMAO indeed.
All 3 guys will sign deals that will take them to RFA with Arb rights at the end of them, then they will get longer term deals.
The 3 of them have barely combined to play 200 NHL games....and you think Conroy is going to give them 25% of the salary cap?
OK then.
Also..never said Canada would win gold either...though i did think they would medal...yet ANOTHER thing you are wrong about.

No you are wrong Canada didn’t medal. Not sure how you are still allowed on this website with how rude you are and allowed to carry a signature mocking someone’s name. It’s embarrassing actually.
You don’t know the league. Look around at young players singing deals. They are being paid. Your dream #1C soft ass butter Cozens got paid after 1 good year.
All 3 will take up the entire cap room I can guarantee you that.

Thought and effort is put into the former, there is nothing done in the latter. There is nothing interesting or funny about the AI image, but if Reg took ten minutes scribble what he promted into the the ai box it would be a billion times more interesting.

lol...OK.
Oh...and Cozens had already played as many NHL games as Zary, Coronato and Wolf have COMBINED when he signed his deal.
Its called context.

Watching them both this season I have a feeling it wouldn’t be that much of a gamble. Coronato looks like he’d chew his arm off to improve. He gets better almost every game. Wolf is just a natural. I doubt either of them would regress.
I probably would say the same thing about Zary.
