Good analogy. They kept Marvin Lewis around forever because of I guess, continuity. And so they got continuous mediocrity.

Maybe it happens. Maybe we have a resurgence akin to the Canes. Or better yet, like the Blues.

One thing's for sure. It only can go up from here.
Three more road losses and that’s it for Peters.

Agree with both.

Guy is just such a warrior, and the best dman in the league last year, I feel like you couldn't ask for a better captain. I just don't know what to think of all this tbh.

Just watched a few of the player videos after the closed door meeting. Sure seems as though it was pretty heated with more than one person called out. Let's see if they respond or if it's all talk.

Have a REALLY bad year and get a franchise player.
Yep, there's nothing to be done at this point. Play out the season, make the needed moves in the off-season.

Including tonight, I haven't watched the last three games, and clearly that was the right decision on my part. If the team won't give a crap, then neither will I.

I still have a tiny shred of faith that they can somehow right the ship. But man, it's not lookin' good right now. This team is a tire fire.

Sorry what are you referring to? They had a closed door meeting after the game tonight and then did media?

Wow is it ever going to be quiet on the bus to the airport and the flight to Philadelphia. Can't get much lower than this.

2 regulation wins in the last 15 games, scoring 2 or fewer goals in 9 of them.

With a 1:00 PM game in Philly followed by a quick flight to Pittsburgh they'll have almost 48 hours on the ground. Regardless of result, might be time to pile up the kangaroo court fines and money on the board pot, leave all cell phones in the hotel rooms, and hit a nice spot in Pitt with a private room and get in one as a team. Mandatory attendance. No coaches. No Trainers. No talking to spouses. Just the boys letting loose and getting bombed as a group with no distractions and no game to worry about the following day. Have a good sweat at practice or the optional the next day, rest off the hangover, and get back to work getting this train back on the tracks with a big win over the Penguins.

No. You specifically referred to a bunch of player interviews and a organized plan by management. It doesn't work like that, so it's just fan-talk and is basically meaningless.

But don't get me wrong, I totally understand the frustration and the desire to see things put right. I'm honestly not trying to be critical of how you feel. I'm just pointing out that it is an emotional flight of fancy.

As a professional manager of a multi-million dollar enterprise you damn well try and save the season. With everything you've got. Granted, it has to be attempted correctly as many posters here have noted. Blowing the future in a vain attempt to help today is obviously worse, but make no mistake, the mandate is reel this thing in, RFN.

I know people hate this cliche but the answers have to be in the room.

This is the team, this is it. Gaudreau, Monny, Tkachuk and Lindholm need to starting producing. If they don't, this team will fail.

That's what it appears like. On the NHL app there are four videos post game/meeting in which the players said the contents of the meeting would be kept inside the room.
