Even though we'd lose two players I think we are better off if Pittsburgh loses. One of our Pens is injured anyway, and our other is not a good one. In the meantime one of our rivals has the good ones.

On the other hand the Short Sticks have a shot at moving on with all of their present 10 players (including Thornton) and they have the best Caps plus Laine and Kane. I didn't like their team but they are doing well.
Still, assuming Boston moves on I'd rather they play the Caps.

we are decent with Nashville. Warreners and MetroFord are probably the best Preds team then I think there are a few other teams like us with 2 strong Predators (the other Preds focused teams are a ways behind us). so if they went all the way to the end I figure maybe we could get a top 3 spot, although even that feels like a stretch if the Bruins bow out in 5

Well I guess it wasn't meant to be. Not finishing the Leafs off earlier probably proved costly for the Bruins as the Lightning simply looked like the fresher team all series.

Hindsight is also 20/20. Easy to poke fun now that we hitched our wagon to the wrong horses, but so did a lot of other people - the B's were a strong favorite heading into the first round.
If we had made it past the Lightning that's a strong case to win the pool outright. Very decent depth contribution from Backes and Kevan Miller.
Now up to Ekholm and Johansen...
