I'm fine with the reboot, I like the idea of seeing them develop the idea of catching ghosts again.
I just don't think the comedy in it fits. Maybe it's just because I loved the original so much and think it's one of the best movies ever.
I liked the part when they said "let's go" or whatever at the same time, stuff like that totally gives me the feeling of the old movie. Then they go and add that stupid slapping stuff and lose it.
I hate reboots cause they are seldom ever successful. I would have much prefer they made a new storyline instead of trying to force fit each character into the old crew.
I was already against the movie when I heard about McCarthy starring in it. Nothing says success, like forced unfunny jokes, same storyline and no key point to draw me in. Paul Feig and Sony are going to take this one on the chin.
Can't wait to see who they get to re-do the Ghostbusters theme. *sigh*
Someone else is going to rip off a Huey Lewis song?

That trailer has the 2nd biggest dislike bar I have ever seen on a new movie trailer on youtube behind only the GEM and the Holograms trailer. This might be one of the biggest $$$ sinks of the year when it hits.
Wow that looks horrible and unfunny and forgets all the lessons that made the first one good.
It also has three of the unfunniest people that I know of all in one movie
Lets see
Melissa McCarthy - Oh look, I'm social awkward and men don't like me cause I'm keeping it real. I like to fall down a lot and either yell or mumble
Kristen Wig - I'm more socially awkward then you, I like to say things under my breath, but deep down I'm smart and have a heart of gold.
Leslie Jones - I'm loud and obnoxious, I like men a lot, and I'm going to slap things around.
In a year with Rogue one, and Civil War and some other actually really good movies with really talented people who aren't one trick ponies involved, I can wait for this one to show up for free on Movie Central.
The only thing that would make this alright is if the ghost of Harold Ramis showed up with the original cast and they crossed the streams killing this franchise.

Oh wow, is that bad. I didn't even come close to smiling let alone laughing during that trailer. Why would they do this to such a great franchise? Money? So sad.
Holy crap the dislike is real, 15k dislike, 12.7k likes.
I really hope the internet gets behind pre-booing this movie.

That trailer did nothing but confirm the worst things I thought about this reboot since I heard about the casting. I definitely will not be paying to see this.

Yeah, I thought the exact same thing about the "let's go" exchange. That gives me a little bit of hope that there's actually more of that type of humour, but they just thought that focusing on the slapstick would make a better trailer. I'm skeptical, but I'm still rooting for them to actually get it right.
Yeah, but he was supernatural. The way this is framed is that there is a human being who is doing this for world domination or something. Just seems to fall in the typical superhero narrative.
As far as SNL cast/alum, those would probably be my go tos.
I think the issue is that you need more than a strong cast.
What made the original great was you could tell it was a bunch of friends who written the film out of a love of comedy. The chemistry was unreal. The dialogue flew and the characters fit the roles perfectly. Reimis and Akroyd wrote and starred in it, and they wrote a part for Bill Murray, that fit his personality perfectly.
Just slapping a bunch of good comedians together, won't have the same effect. You can't really make a remake of a film that was written by a group of friends and expect it to be good. You need to come up with your own concept for that to work.

Did anyone laugh, once? A chuckle? Lord almighty that looks terrible.
Could they have found baggy clothes? I realize coveralls were designed to make it seem the wearer has crapped their pants but tighten those things up. The whole thing looks ridiculous.
And Ghostbusters 2 is awesome, go to hell habernac!

LOL! Dude, I love the original characters as well, but that thing is an abomination.
This new one... I just can't believe how lazy Hollywood has become.

Couldnt agree more.
Wow. That trailer was cringe inducing.
And the Black woman? That is just straight-up racist.
