I've really tried hard to figure out what it is about "K" I hate so much, and I think I finally figured it out. To my eye it seems unfinished, without borders. I know that seems harsh and I don't mean to be harsh, but I really do think a very thin black border around it would improve it to better than E, which is what I voted.

I have no problem with the logo....it is very nicely done.
However, I have a problem seeing how the Calgary Tower is synonymous with hockey, the Calgary Flames, or this website? Sure, the tower was lit when the Flames won the cup but otherwise?????

CP isn't just a hockey forum. Look at our off topic, and other sports forums. I spend more time in the Tech Talk and F&E subforums than I do anywhere else, really. The forum logo doesn't have to relate strictly to hockey, though through the use of colour, and the name, one could guess by looking at (K) that CP is a hockey forum.

It's a tough choice, and ultimately Bingo's. I actually really like option K, but when I imagine it in practice with the whole site, I don't see how it will make CP look any different overall.
It has much the same feel to it as our current logo. For that reason I think Alltherage's and Muta's designs should be the go to's for a very sleek, new modern look.
I actually voted for H, but unfortunately that one isn't gaining much traction.

The tower has nothing to do with hockey. It is a symbol for the city of Calgary... Since this is a Calgary based community talking about the Calgary based professional hockey team (with additional forums where other Calgary topics are sometimes discussed) it makes sense to incorporate the symbol of the community into the symbol for the website. Also, I thought that it was a great way to say "Calgary Flames" through imagery instead of words.
I was thinking about how K would look with hockey sticks in the white space beside the flames... But that seems too busy.

Probably not, do a Google image search of CP logo and you'll see lots of logos with a similar look. If we were a company selling household personal care products then there might be a case of confusion.
Though if they lawyer up they could certainly bully us, maybe we'd make Popehat!

I love option C. The way the text bubble is seamlessly incorporated into the logo gives it depth of meaning. Very smart.
I see B doing the same motif with a rink shape, I liked it too, very clever incorporation of all the elements to describe the message board visually.
Down at the bottom, the classic rondel look of J/K just works. The crest/stamp is a timeless logo and it's pulled off very nicely on both options. I'm just not a fan of having unofficial in the text. "Your 24/7 Hockey Source" or "Your 24/7 Flames Source" would work better for my tastes. But the design still got my vote.
edit: And I read through the comments and saw the updated logos. Nice work. Read my mind.
