There's a goalie in the NHL that I think has a chance to start for a semi-competitive team and he hasn't been picked yet.
Also I have no clue who to pick when it's my turn. I made a list and everyone on it was picked by round 6.

I do believe who you are talking about but when it came down to him vs Salák, who is probably the starter on the Czech team in a pretty weak group, I think the latter is going to get a few more points.

Since I'm the only one without a goalie at this point I will explain my thought process. I will ultimately make the goalie pick last and will decide between:
A) Pavelec, the likely starter for the Czech team
B) Lehtonen, the back up who might get a game or two against Norway or Austria
or
C) Gustavsson, who got a game in 2010, and may get more if Lundqvist struggles.

Finland and Sweden have elite level starting goaltenders so its risking banking on one of their backups to play more than a game... IMO
Edit: Now if Rinne was playing I could see the value in taking Rinne or Rask.

If I needed a goalie I would take Niemi. Probably Rask's backup, but he should play a few games.

Niemi's the one I was thinking. I think Lehtonen will be the 3rd goalie but Pavalec might make sense but that team isn't going to do whole lot.

Sorry for the delay.
I'll take Tomas Tatar from Slovakia.

What does everyone think, is Popov going to be the only non-NHLer taken..? (aside from Kovy and Radulov)

I have no clue who my next pick will be. I should really take a look at the rosters again.

Does anyone have issues with Semin getting added now? We can make him ineligible if others want to? IMO, it won't be fair with the slim pickings at forwards that a top guy gets added and it happens to be your pick but if its ok with everyone else we can move it along.
So post your opinions please, asap.

I'll take Marek Zidlicky as my 2nd defenseman.
I have no problem with PlayfulGenius selecting Semin. Rosters are going to change leading up to Sochi, he just happended to be the one to benefit from this change. I wish I would have taken another day or so to make my pick though.
I would also suggest that prior to the start of the games, if a team has injured players, they would get to select a replacement. If there are more than 1, I would use the reverse draft order to determine who gets first pick.
My team:
Crosby [Can]
H. Sedin [Swe]
Sharp [Can]
Benn [Can]
Alfredsson [Swe]
Pacioretty [US]
Tatar [Slovakia]
Ekman-Larsson [Swe]
Zidlicky [Czech Rep]

I think there should be some way that the person who gets Semin will be chosen randomly..
I bet anyone with 1 forward left to pick would choose him over anyone left.
But I'll be fine with whatever the majority decides. Also I agree we should establish ground rules now for what happens for injured players...
