I'm 38 so I saw plenty on Chelios in his prime...I hated him so much when he was with MTL...easy to do with he Flames playing the Habs in both Cup Finals...EDM was the only team I hated more.
Anyway, I'd certainly take Stevens over Chelios...only player intimidated the competition.

^ Most people I found seemed to favor Chelios, mostly because he could be a great defensive dman while still putting up 60-70 points on a yearly basis. Stevens was either a great offensive or defensive player, but never both. Chelios also finished 2nd in the running for the Norris at the age of 40, which apparently is the only time two defensemen playing on different pairings finished 1-2 in Norris voting (Lidstrom-Olausson and Chelios-Fisher were the pairings). I think Chelios might get the slight edge over Stevens with the 3-0 in Norris Trophy's. All the other statistics are pretty much even.
