Bit much for a regular season game , don't see how anyone can disagree with that. Yakupov is going to be great for the BOA because he is a really easy player to dislike
You've clearly never spoken to a hockey player. Thats what everyone calls it.
Ya, and for a while hockey players were were calling goal "ginos". Both are terrible.
Hated Yakupov's celebration for many of the reasons already mentioned: it's game 3; he tied the game, he didn't win it; it was his second goal, so the whole "first goal ever excitement" excuse proved false; ran away from his teammates to celebrate by himself, etc.
I agree there should be emotion and excitement in hockey, but it can be displayed in a way that doesn't involve showboating.

My fellow Flames fans need to stop riding their high horse when it comes to the Oilers fans. They're a team of underachievers, have had many, many years of futility, and they continue to come out in droves to watch them play. Good on them. I'm glad they have an exciting team to watch, let's just hope that we have ourselves a fun, competitive game to watch on Saturday night.

Russia player shows no emotion and that means he doesn't care. Russian player shows emotion and he's a hotdog.
Thanks for posting this. Only in Canada would we get bent out of shape about some 18 year old kid jumping around after scoring in his 3rd game ever. I would have killed for that kind of emotion last year 'round here.
Honestly, threads like this are what makes this board less and less desirable a place for Flames fans to want to come and discuss things intelligently. Save this crap for HF or some other dark corner of the net. Let's lock this and move on, or merge with the OOT thread...sheesh.
Now, if he keeps doing it after every goal, then, yeah, this discussion needs to be had and we can pile on the Oilers.

Meh, not really a big deal at all. Ovie used to and sometimes still does act like a wild man after his goals. The Oilers fandom is going to be out in full force Saturday - me thinks.
Who cares, he didn't do anything obscene. Was it over the top? Sure. Immature? Maybe, but the kid is 18 and not everyone is going to be mature at that age.
One of two things is going to happen...Either he was just caught up in the moment and he learns from the situation and matures as the season goes on, or he continues to have over the top celebrations and other teams get mad and old time justice prevails.
Life goes on, it wasn't a big deal.
