Yeah, it has been primarily the parallels that's been in use. I'm just making a comment that it seems since the parallels have been online, that the over the past couple of months, this is the most I've since the planes land or takeoff from on 29.

Growing up in Beddington back in the 80s and 90s was fun. So many planes using 11/29 (or 10/28 as it was known then). But that was well before the parallel runways, and also before a lot of residential development up there as well.

I lived in Panorama growing up in the late 90s/early 2000s right above the Clubhouse of the golf course... it was great watching the flights take off and land on 10/28
Still remember a pair of CF-18 flying over head on the final to 10/28

I love when mainstream tries to write stories about viral Reddit posts... and yes, prices are damn ridiculous for a lot of stuff here. Things only change once they get called on it, just like the lack of water fountains.

^ My favourite example of media covering Reddit was the touching story of vanilla_butthole returning a lost camera to a tourist: https://www.thestar.com/news/gta/201...the-ocean.html
Also, I love how Relay only lowered the price to double what you pay outside of an airport instead of 4x. I hate both Relay and Hudson News for that.

Is this a new project, or was this supposed to be originally completed when the new terminal opened last year?

Pretty sure it was always the long term plan, but wouldn't have been feasible during initial construction wihout massive delays, since it's all in the Utilities corridor

Thoughts and prayers to anyone travelling from January 17 to February 19. Oh crap, that's me!

Probably will only impact baggage for connecting domestic to international flights.

The link says it is only 11pm to 4am for the international terminal. I’d think that eliminates about 90% of arrivals.

Has anyone parked at YYC lately? We are flying out of the new terminal on Thursday, and it looks like P2 has been closed since January 2. Is parking a gong show or can I reasonably expect to be able to park in P1 and hoof it over?

Parkade 2 is still closed (as of Saturday). There is plenty of room in Parkade 1 though. There's a sign at the entrance that tells you how many spaces are on each level, but there has been lots of room the past several times I've been (I volunteer there every Saturday).

I parked in P1 a week ago Sunday and there were 100+ spots on each level.

Also parked in P1, added a few more steps to my walk into the airport, which was annoying, but first world problem.

I spoke to a Delta agent who said it's closed due to a broken pipe. He said the authority has given them no timeline as to when it'll be fixed.
You are simply asking too much if you expect a brand new airport to be functioning correctly. Moving pedways that don't move, lack of seating, no water fountains, no bathroom once you land after a long flight, call to gate utter failure, Lexus only parking, the list goes on.

The pipe burst shortly after Christmas during the cold snap.

I think the pipe that broke was the one that supplied water to the new water fountains they installed.

Who engineers the utilities of an open air structure that cannot survive the elements of the location its to be built?
Probably outsourced to much warmer climes I'd wager
