Hard to believe you can win a match hitting 7 winners to 44 unforced erros over three sets, but that's what Jasmine Paolini did last night versus Coco Gauff. Coco needs to fix her serve, 16 double faults in the match.

Well, it's the final we all wanted, but Sinner looks to be in much better form than Charlie.

Well, no crowds today in Cincinnati calling out between serves to disturb Rybakina. Just a continual buildup of being in winning positions and falling apart. Not sure why she brought back her abusive coach either, just because the tour cleared him doesn't mean you need to instantly have him back in your box.

I simply don't understand such a marquee matchup being scheduled in the afternoon a non-holiday Monday. The whole Canadian Open/Cincinnati Open stretch is a big mess now. Tour has badly mismanaged these events.

it totally screws up the USO star mixed doubles too, nobody who's playing today is going to participate in that tomorrow

Charlie breaks to love to start the final.
Edit: And he consolidates the break.
Edit 2: Charlie breaks again and Sinner looks very sluggish to start the final.

Sinner looks done like dinner and I think just called for the trainer.

What a letdown for the fans in attendance. After all my complaining maybe it was for the best to stash this one away. Hopefully the women's final delivers.

If Charlie wins the US Open, he will become world #1 following the retirement win today in Cincinnati as Sinner has 2000 points to defend while Carlos only has 50 points to defend in New York.

Paolini certainly had her chances versus Iga today, but just couldn't quite seal the deal. I was hoping to see a 3rd set alas it wasn't meant to be.
