They were riding bikes. They're not cyclists.

Anyone want to get into road biking? I have an older Lemond Chambery carbon, Campy Veloce grouppo, I would guess the frame size at about 55cm. It's gathering dust in my garage. $500 and it's yours. Let me know if you are interested.

Will PM you in 10 minutes. I'm thinking it may be better to get a road bike and convert it to a pathway cruiser than to alter my non-functional FS lockout mountain bike.

Wow I would take that in a heartbeat. I have a feeling that my current carbon bike is actually the wrong size.
The MEC guy (didn't sound very credible to me) fitted me out to 53cm last year but it's feeling cramped and looking my own research and doing measurements I think a 55/56cm is more my size. Not sure what to do about this because I had it a few months (didn't cycle through the winter) and I'll be riding in the Ride to Conquer Cancer this year so the right size would definitely help me go 200KM.

I have a 2011 Cervelo R3. I picked up my bike after a tune up, and purchased a spare tire. They didn't have the exact tire that is on my bike, but I bought a comparable one based on the recommendation of the guy at the LBS. The current tires on my bike are 700*23. When I got home I realized the replacement tire is 700*25. Should I return it for a *23, or does it work fine? Are there advantages or disadvantages to having a *23 on one side and a *25 on the other?
Thanks

I know some guys do it on purpose to have a little more width on the back or front.

I ride 25's now. I find they ride nicer than 23's. I do have HED wheels though with a 25 mm width as opposed to a standard 19mm, so the wheel fits quite nicely. It has a lower rolling resistance, and I can run less air pressure.

Why are you replacing yor crankset?

replacing the crankset because it has giant chunks bent to the side and it clicks and is generally very annoying to ride with. Everything else is fine (front fork needs replacing but not as much as a crankset that skips teeth when going up hill)

would repeat.....
finished teh day off with lunch on the patio of the magpie and stump........

I looked through a few pages but figured I would just ask.
I got a job and the building (bankers hall) I am now at doesnt have bike parking available (other than impark $170/month).
Does anyone have any suggestions on bike parking? I applied for the wait list at ParkPlus but I dont expect to hear back from them anytime soon. I am open to walking a good distance from where I would park to the building.
I am a very fair weather biker, would be biking Jul, Aug, Sept, and Oct only. Thanks.

Anyone here have a tacx trainer? Been loving the bike still and am already looking at riding during the winter. The tacx is appealing cuz of the different modes (Racing in the dome, multiplayer racing, etc) which seem fun. Price is a bit steep though.
