if the dude is 6ft tall and the net is 4 ft tall... there is 0% that was deflected below the crossbar.

I'll pick Johnny for the OT winner, mostly because I think it needs to be Johnny if the Flames are going to have any chance of winning this series.
And Johnny, if you're checking social media during the intermission, (a) stop doing that and get your head in the game, and (b) finish this in the first 5 minutes of OT because my heart is getting on in years and I have to work tomorrow.

Gillies is the big boy decision.
That and hire Darryl to coach next game.
Just kidding.
Kind of.

This is do or die. Lose in OT and this will leave the Flames completely deflated and completely on the ropes.

Next up, Ref is probably going to pick up the puck off the faceoff, skate over and drop it behind Elliott. Game over.

I'm with you on the chance to pull out a win! But Bernier kept the Ducks it.

The archaic league can't rationalize calls. Oh we need video proof. Well the dude is ####ing 6'3" and standing on say 1.5" skates and his arms are straight and at a slight upwards angle. Even if, for some god damn reason, the measurement from his shoulder to his head is 2 ft, you're still above the 4 ft net.
Like for #### sakes, the NHL doesn't want to use a god damn brain. This league is horse####. ####ing horse####.

Exactly. It was one bad call. You can't blame the refs if that costs you the game... you have to overcome that.

That is certainly part of it but lets call a spade a spade, if Elliott was half decent in goal this game would already be in the books.

Looked it up, it is a players shoulders OR height of the crossbar. Either way... NO FRIPPIN' GOAL!!!

The rule is the cross bar
Quote:
stoppage in play results if a high stick comes in contact with the puck and the team who touched it regains control of the puck. However, play usually continues if a player touches the puck with a high stick and the opposing team gains control of the puck. If the puck goes into the opposing net after coming into contact with a high stick, the goal is disallowed. The level at which a stick is considered too high for a goal is the crossbar of the net. However, if a player knocks the puck into his own net with a high stick, the goal is allowed.
