Do you know how long it's going to take to get the SE LRT built? Could be another 10-15 years.

That could be the ticket for funding, The City actually would be "funding" the LRT line not the building, and boom you've got the beginning of a deal.

How so? Integrate the station into the building and let the city build the tracks whenever they get around to it. That location would still be served by the existing C-Train routes, and would actually be better than the Dome because people on the NE-W trains wouldn't need to transfer to a south train downtown.

Muta is well connected in the industry. I would consider him the Calgary land development equivalent of sureloss.

And what convenient timing for a project like this to come about. Outside of downtown (the Brookfield tower), the airport and another new very large tenant starting construction in quarry park soon, the commercial construction in the city is far from the boom of the south calgary hospital. A project like this could potentially usher this city into another boom.

I think that there are more important lines than one that goes to the airport.

The line to the airport from waterfront in downtown Vancouver is a-maz-ing.
you don't know what you're missing. It's a game changer.
Suddenly the whole city is accessible. It doesn't cost you an arm and leg, and you don't have to beg a friend to pick you up.
When I fly home to Calgary, I have to make a family member or friend drive an hour MINIMUM round trip to pick me up, or I pay nearly enough to take a limo home on a cab.
LRT to YYC! Say it with me!

I do. An airport authority like Vancouver's that is willing to pay for it, and therefore be bumped up the priority list.
As per above:

What are the chances that the Flames go with personal seat licenses for the new arena as a way of helping fund it?

The Taxi Cab union lobbyists would never allow it!

That was more about the 2010 Olympics and less about YVRAA.

I would guess slim. How many STH would actually be willing to buy? Some suits might, but I think this team has to be a little concerned for getting overly corporate.

Part of the new arena is to get more corporate money. I think getting overly corporate is pretty low on their list of concerns.

I'd buy them in a second. Really hope this is the direction they choose to go.

Are you nuts? PSL are going to fund at least 50% of our new arena. You can bet that tons of big company's in town are going to buy a few (especially those that don't get boxes).
