Girlfriend diagnosed with breast Cancer late 2014.
First surgery Jan 2015.
On Dec 30th, we made our 100th hospital visit in 2015. Her final treatment is Jan 15 2016.
All looks good, and so we intend/resolve to go to the hospital at least 90 times less in 2016.
Cheers to the new year... and #### cancer.

-Been lazy from the gym the last couple months, so I resolve to be back at least 4x/week on a new program. Want to be able to bench press 4 plates and deadlift/squat 6 plates sooner rather then later.
-Quit weed for good. Not even a puff here and there like I've been doing. 100% done.
-Pay off my entire credit card balance
-Clean up some of the clutter in my place

Do at least three of the first four things and I'll bet you'll be well on your way to that last one.

If you have a gym resolution, please wait until February to start.
Thanks.

It sucks, and it doesn't - It just is what it is. Obviously you know that. We always think something like this affects old people, but it doesn't discriminate like that.
I love to hear stories like her's though. My girl is the most incredible person I know. I think anyone facing something like this is that incredible, regardless of the outcome. The real frustrating part for me is never being able to really do anything, except show up - be there. Us guys want to fix ####, and we often can't.
Cheers to you and your wife. All the best

Yup, fortunately(or unfortunately) things were so bad I didn't ever have a chance to want to fix it, it was non-stop crises and appointment management. Take care of yourself, too. I thought I could handle it, but in the end when it was done I kinda -ok really- fell apart. Don't be afraid to take advantage of whatever services are offered for you, too.

I'm drinking water, and only water.
No soda, juice, coffee, tea, beer, wine... nothing.
Actually isn't that hard. Hoping that taking my liquid calories down to '0' will help me lose some weight.

For how long?
I'm not making any resolutions. I'll just use the gluttony experienced over the month of December as something to rebound from in January. Viewing it more as getting back on track with some long term improvements rather than changing anything permanently since I think that would just set me up for failure.
I mean, I don't make Stampede resolutions or Thanksgiving/Easter ones after some holiday or summer gluttony over those periods.
Look at habernac's posts, 2011/2012/2016 for an example (sorry Mr. habernac, didn't mean to pick on you). Unless of course one things they can actually change something and stick to it because it's a "new year". If you can I'm jealous!

1) Lose more fat/gain muscle (lost 17lbs in 2015!)
2) Plan 3 big vacations
3) Touch my toes (I am about 8inchs away when trying)
4) Do 3 wide-grip pull ups (I can do about 1, then need 5 days recovery)

I don't usually post here because I don't want to let myself down! Haha. But I thought why not this year.
No drinking on weekdays (monday to thursday), even when attending flames games.
Hit the gym 3 times a week, at this point anything is better than what I was doing before.
Fit into my old snow pants for boarding by next season, ie start of boarding season 2016.
I don't think it will be too tough, the not drinking beer on game nights or just for casual drinks during the week I think will be the toughest but because of that goal, I should be spending more time at the gym.
I just don't want to feel like crap anymore and drinking any bit of alcohol can really affect your progress. Should be an interesting year.

Why give up things like coffee and tea that can potentially be good for you?
I get giving up the other crap though. I did that last year. I never drink juice or pop or anything anymore. Just water.

My resolution is to get a job. I quit my job and moved last summer. Haven't worked since, havent even attempted to get a job and have enjoyed it.
I have no fitness plans to lose weight as I go to the gym 5 days a week and play soccer and basketball each once a week (got to do something when you don't work!) but I'd like to take up cross country skiing and kayaking too. I live in an area with too many lakes to count, so it'd be fun to explore them.
Also, to try to be positive all the time and not engage in any gossip or say anything negative about anyone else.
