A few years back it did a lot of damage here in High River. Thankfully we didn't get that type of storm again. LOL I just checked my chest freezer and I still have some baseball sized hail that I saved from that storm

I got hungry, so I went for a McDonalds run an checked out some damage on the way. It wasn't too bad here in Canyon Meadows, a couple of mailboxes blew over, lots of branches. One unfortunite person is going to wake up tomorrow and see that they're ford escape has a been hit by a branch about 5 feet long and half a foot thick.

Pretty good lightning show downtown... so annoyed though, every time I close my shutter is when the big ones decide to show up.

Wow a lot of you guys were up for this one, mind you so was I but I was checking for a tornado warning. Out in the boonies east of Chestermere we got slammed. Hail still sitting outside in piles, lightning struck a few trees in the area. Crazy lightning show, there had to have been a tornado somewhere after that bomb of a storm.

Yeah, a couple of branches off my big tree in the back broke off, and the gazebo that we set up yesterday was moved.

We slept in the basement and didn't hear a thing - woke up to it this morning... LOL

I knew I should have gone onto CP when it hit last night.

Pretty intense here in Copperfield. There were several flashes of lightning followed by thunder less than a second later. I actually made a point of being sure where my car keys and wallet were, along with a flashlight in case our house got hit and we had to get out fast.

I've seen it rain sideways, bit I've never seen it hail sideways before. I have one window way back inside a covered deck and it was getting it full on with hail.

And constant thunder.

my three year old weathered it well, he woke up but went right back to sleep when I told him it was just wind, rain and thunder. Had to find my garbage can in the alley and our recycle bin went for a ride. And I really need to fix the weatherstripping on my back dorr as there was a bunch of water on the floor.

There wasn't any thunder by my house, just constant lightning, and it didn't stop, it would just keep lighting up my house for 30 minutes straight. I don't think the wind was as strong as some of you guys say at my house though, all my windows were closed but nothing creaked or anything.

My favorite part: I go to bed thinking that it was over (I can't sleep during storms), and as soon as I close my eyes, my entire room lights up and the sky explodes like what seemed right above my room.

I'm out by Canada Olympic Park, and it was bad here. The storm was right above my house and loud. Loud enough to make you think the East vs. West Canadian Civil War had started.

Why did I not think to go on CP last night?

That storm was crazy! The hail was so violent I was woken up and thought there was a tornado above me. Crazy!

There is so much damage to trees and plants around Airdrie, but luckily my car is ok

Any day after - stories? I'm shocked to be honest that not much outside is different than yesterday. A deck chair fell over, and I think my bbq moved half a foot Not much, but enough to notice it's not straight. I've got to ask my other half if he moved it, if not, it was the wind. That would be crazy, it's one of those big bulky metal ones. Trees are fine, cars are fine, neighbours flower pot is in the middle of the lawn, but that's about it. It's actually nice knowing how resilient the earth is and how forgiving our stuff is!

There are big piles of hail that I can see still, I will be heading out in a bit and will survey the damage around Airdrie.

My place is littered with broken branches but I, um, seem to have slept through it entirely.

Didn't hear a thing. ZZZZZZZ SNORK!!! ZZZZZZZZZZ

Storm? What storm?

Had a nice two hour run this morning . . . . nice and cool and overcast.

Did anyone else come racing into this thread when they saw that Cowperson had posted, getting jacked to see some amazing thunderstorm pics.
