Oilers managed to muster all their strength, push out everything they can... and they managed to beat Philly in OT. I am sure their next opponents are trembling.

And need help from the officials. If that's the other way no doubt the Flyers get called. He probably gets a penalty shot out of it too.

The reason for the later start, ESPN doubleheader with Wild-Blues game.

Yup.
- As you said, RNH looks like a replacement level player.
- Hyman is off to a slow start, but I think he'll be fine (but expecting 54 G again is asking for disappointment)
- Draisaitl's diving antics aren't getting the attention he craves
- The forecheck game is completely gone (who could have predicted that, after taking Foegele, McLeod, Holloway and Kane out of the lineup?)
- With no forecheck, and little physicality up front, the lack of speed becomes a huge issue.
- The defense is BAD. Obviously moving Ceci, Desharnais and Broberg for Stecher, Brown, Emberson and Dermott was a downgrade, but I don't think anyone in the organization thought it would be this much of a downgrade. They keep searching for a partner for Nurse, but that isn't the answer - the answer is to have a legit 2nd pair, and shelter Nurse as much as possible on the 3rd pair. And they simply don't have the cap space or assets to acquire two 2nd pairing guys.
- Their goaltending is exactly what we suspected - inconsistent.
They are going to have to rely entirely on the PP, to try and outscore teams. Two problems with that: other teams have learned how to defend the PP (at least somewhat), and the league is onto their diving antics.
It is going to be a grind for them, all season. They'll have their streaks, when the PP runs hot, but they are going to have their challenges as well. And the big challenge lurking around the corner is that they are the oldest team in the league, and this grind is going to wear very heavily on them. Can they persevere and still have enough in the tank for a long playoff run? We'll see. But personally, I doubt it.
And next year is even worse, due to their cap issues

That was my thought on Sunday: the Oilers look very slow. If they can't increase the pace of their play, then they may be in for a long season.
In addition, Hyman seems to have cooled off compared to last season where everything went in for him.

Just watched the 'highlights' of the Coilers game. Oof, that team is in trouble. Looks like folks are wise to them and tired of their diving ways. Hopefully they get more and more calls against them. The 'dive for a PP' BS is such a negative on hockey.
Also, I see Skinner got shot while behind his net again.

Listened to 880 chud for the last few minutes and OT and it’s as bad as snet with the obvious recognition that it’s a home broadcast. Can confirm that it was like a trophy of some kind was won with the tying and winning goal. Commentary team said something like “flyers should be mad about that winning goal” which I immediately translated into should have been a penalty against the oilers.
Also read this morning that the “nuclear option” was deployed with success last night. In game 4. Last game of an 1-3 homestand.
Terrible team is terrible.
