"Ok buddy, I will see you in hell."
"We better hurry to hell. The fun starts in 20 minutes."
I am sure the wives will get a kick out of it when their husbands go the game with their friends: "Go to hell honey." "Enjoy your time in hell."
I am boring, so I will probably just call it "new dome".
Appropriate for an Ice Rink.

I feel like it needs to be one syllable...The Dome rolls off the tongue so easily.
The options in the poll are like calling someone by their first and last name.
Yeah none of those are ever catching on. 99% of the nicknames suggested here are never catching on, not because they aren’t clever or funny or whatever, but because they feel and sound like crap to say. You maybe get away with it if it’s got some history.
One syllable if it requires “the,” two if it doesn’t. Would have to roll off the tongue easier than “Scotia Place” which rolls off the tongue pretty well as it is.

If the two-syllable "forum" (in Montreal) can catch on, I don't see why something like the "fireplace" can't.

I choose to argue that fireplace is four syllables when annunciated properly.
Avatar picture checks out.

1. Sounds dorky
2. Too much mouth movement
3. That was its actual name
1. That's fair - if its a dorky name (not admitted), it won't catch on;
2. You seem like a lazy lover; and
3. I think it's actual name was the Montreal Forum, no? (yes, I'm being pedantic).

Shorter names are definitely easier. There’s a non-zero chance people just call it “The Place” or “Scotia.” But I think to add/change the name it has to be shorter, easier, and catchy.
