Doc Ryan is a pleasure to watch on a nightly basis, one of my favourite Flames ever
So glad they signed him, could see him re-upping for a couple more years if he keeps up this play. He might be the smoothest skating 33-year-old in hockey

Him and Frolik are by far the two best UFA signings Brad Treliving has made as GM.
I was pulling for us to sign him right from the moment his season ended with the Hurricanes and he's even outplayed my expectations.
Excellent player to watch on a nightly basis

And one of the better 1a/1b combos at their disposal with Talbot apparently possessing the best league numbers since December started.
Yeah it's really not. Main concern is Gaudreau and Monahan getting back to their reliable point per game selves again before april rolls around. That will be key. I'm confident Treliving brings in a big body that can produce to help them get rolling though.

Well, maybe Talbot will be up there too, soon.

I just realized that Sammy boy had less ES ice time than both Rinaldo and Jankowski.
Yikes.

With Phillips, Gawdin, Quine and Robinson all lighting it up in the AHL and Czarnik looking good on his stint you have to think Jankowski's time as a regular has to be numbered. Does PK usage warrant him eating up a spot on a nightly basis?
Guys are knocking and arguably deserving of a look, and in Czar's case his old spot back- which I hope happens soon.

I really liked the lines Ward put out in the third period --
Gaudreau - Monahan - Bennett
Tkachuk - Lindholm - Lucic
Dube - Backlund - Ryan
Rinaldo - Jankowski - Mangiapane
Sub out Rinaldo and Janko for Rieder and Phillips/Czarnik and I think that's an ideal lineup until a trade is made. Really liked the third line especially.

Zuccarello was chirpimg at Rasmus , Ramus fired back in swedish and ended it with Boom, Zuccarello tried to chirp back in Seedish amd had no retort.
I like to believe he was talkimg #### about how he had just laid out a Wild player. Just before the whistle he laid out a fairly substantial hit then the camera panned to the to exchanging pleasantries.

Zuccarello was speaking Norwegian, not Swedish.

Give it a few days and I am sure AC will have a decent little gif which will explain everything.

Anyone else notice that Gaudreau's celebration after his goal tonight was a little more enthusiastic than has been the usual lately? Big jump into Monahan's arms, huge smile, all that? That's a big change from what we've seen earlier this year after many of his goals.

The camera in between the benches was on Andersson when he was speaking to fellow Scandinavian Zuccarello and at the end said BOOM while motioning a hard fall..

Talbot was great tonight but I don’t think the Flames played that bad either. Stalock also had a great game.
I always laugh at the “didn’t deserve to win” comments. They absolutely deserved to win because they scored more goals than the Wild. Was the goaltender a big part of it? Absolutely but the goalie is a part of the team too.
If Minnesota deserved to win they would have scored 3 goals instead of 1, but they didn’t and thus deserve exactly what they got.
