Pretty meh game from the flames starters.
I am pretty disappointed by both mangiapane and Dube thus far.

Tkachuk was as valuable as any on PP1. He’s good in front with tips, he’s great with one touch passes from behind goal line, great shot too - he does so much to make that unit go.

That was an interesting way to gain the zone on the PP.

He was certainly very impressive to start. I'm disappointed he hasn't continued on that trajectory. Although tbh I'd still like to see him with Tkachuk, think that could be very interesting.
Also, Lucic looks awesome on this powerplay.
|
I get the same way, or used to.
Lucic will be a great add to the bottom 6, and throw him in front of the net once in a while on the pp to shake things up.

If Lucic wants to stand in front of the net to screen and tip pucks all season it's fine with me.

Was going to say, Neal wouldn't have been able to hit that pass with the tape of his stick. Flubbed on those setups all last year.
Lucic just being able to do normal NHL player things is a massive upgrade on what Neal brought, he was that bad.

I don't mind the idea of Andersson pumping point shots toward the net with Tkachuk tipping on PP2

I liked Andersson's intentional icing dump in into the corner on the PP for the winger to beat out. Nice wrinkle to add when the PKers are focused on our usual drop back.

Which Flames coach was it that insisted that basically every breakout was to be performed by flipping the puck 50 feet in the air? Keenan?
