My quote from 2nd period in the GT: "Smith with the Superman technique...I am waiting to see him have to use the Scorpion, if the 'Hawks try to go high when he dives."
So, when THIS happened in the 3rd...I wasn't as surprised.

Sloppy, but, entertaining, I am looking forward to Jan 7's series finale, which I will have to stream, while at work.
Again, it was fun to hang in the GDT, GT, and PGT, with you fine Flames' fans.

Tough as nails team first guy and he’s one of the very few guys who doesn’t worry about points, just wins. We’re lucky to have him.
I posted this in the game thread:
“Hamonic has turned out to be a very good acquisition by Treliving. I love his game. We were told we were getting an absolute defensive rock with a good first pass out of the zone and underrated passing overall. Despite taking a year to adjust, that’s exactly what we got.”
Travis Hamonic is awesome.

Great game. Smith was damn good tonight, especially considering all the 5-alarm saves he was tasked with. I think unquestionably Smith has gotten better over his last outings, and if regains his form than this team is going to be outright deadly this season. Really great to see.
Hamonic is a warrior. Broken nose smorken nose. He still plays hard and even gets down to block shots. He battles. He makes others look at him and feel ashamed for not battling as hard, so they start battling harder too. Love Hamonic.

Points are never a sure thing in hockey. I've been as hard on Smith as most of us. His athleticism tonight shown through. Great game by him and the team. We went into a good team's barn and took two points. Boo ya!!

Weird game. Feels like we dominated for long stretches and on the shot counter, yet also feels like we could have lost pretty easily because of the defensive breakdowns. Good thing Smith had a great game.
I always forget how much I dislike Toews ... every time he was shown on the broadcast he was whining to the ref about something. Shut your yap.

Time for the Lomberg experiment to end. Not sure why he was in instead of Czarnik.
Janko deserves some skill on his line.

Fun game that turned into a heck of a nail-biter...not because the Hawks were so good, but because the Flames kept giving away chances -- the number of odd-man rushes was awful! OTOH, Smith was stellar.
Lots of fun and we're back on top!! 1 point up on the Sux and two games in hand.
..and Snek is above the line!

Smith earned that win, amazing amazing save. Redeemed a couple of softies with that play, looking like Higuita with the scorpion kick.

I was listening to 960 after the game and they pointed out that despite the shots being largely in Calgarys favour, high danger chances were 11-10 in favour of the Blackhawks.
