Sorry ... bad reading skills on my part.

I don't think it's likely though. The only thing that could see him repeating that production total in my mind is lack of opportunity on a deeper team.

Not sure I'd go that far.

I think you can be a fan of a team but start to hate a player so much (due to disappointment) that you get jaded and find yourself cheering against him.

I know the Yankee fans had a thing ten years ago where they all agreed to stop booing A-Rod for fear they were contributing to his poor play.

Hmmm...I still don't think you can be a fan of a team and openly hope a guy on your team fails though. Unless there is some digression off the ice or something along those lines, it doesn't make sense.

I'm old though and have a differing view than some on what fandom should be.

It can happen, for sure. When I was a teenager this was basically my attitude towards Mike Vernon. I loved the Flames, but couldn't stand him, and I weirdly, actively harboured a sense of satisfaction when he would let in a bad goal or lose a game. To my mind it was easy to foist all of the team's problems exclusively on Vernon's performance—I think similar to how a lot of fans felt last year about Troy Brouwer or Glen Gulutzan. This is speaking from my own experience, but I think it is probably more a sign of immaturity than anything else.

Well we've seen a lot of evidence of people cheering against him. I'm not going to say they're not fans as they're allowed to do what they want to do.

And it's never had to make sense!

Purely a guess but I would think cuts are happening as we sit here now.

Lot of interviews/meetings to be done today.

Yeah I would think the group of 50 goes down to something like 26 today.

15 forwards
8 defenseman
3 goalies

That's a lot of meetings to nuke 24 bodies.

That was literally one poster, and I can’t speak for the poster, but I’m pretty sure it wasn’t meant to be taken seriously

Here's my prediction for what we see after the cuts:

F: Gaudreau, Monahan, Tkachuk, Neal, Frolik, Backlund, Ryan, Bennett, Lindholm, Jankowski, Czarnik, Dube, Mangiapane, Hathaway, Klimchuk, and Lazar (16)

D: Giordano, Brodie, Hamonic, Hanifin, Stone, Kulak, Prout, Andersson (8)

G: Smith, Gillies, Rittich (3)

Almost exactly what I would guess...though I wont be surprised if Lazar gets the axe today as well.

I think Kylington warrants a longer look personally. To me, he is still in the conversation for 3LD (even the frontrunner for me).

I agree, he has really impressed me. His skating is fun to watch. He certainly hasn’t looked out of place and I think he’s ready for the step up in competition. I would like to see him get consideration over Prout

Just watched the highlights. Nice classic Mony tap-in, top corner on a breakaway. Excited to see what he can do this season.

His shot accuracy is incredible. I too am excited to see what he can do with two wrists and not one (and getting feeds from someone not getting hacked 20 times a game on his wrists).

I think there will be the first line then two or maybe three second lines, depending who is hot and if Backlund is covering on the opposing team.

But can we get behind what should have come out of this game, the Benning gif of "what there are two Karlssons" after trading their 1st next year for Melker Karlsson.
