Man, I totally doubted everything after the first quarter of the season.
I was one of the doubters, when people told me hold on the Flames will still get it together, I didn't believe it. Well I was wrong, dead wrong. So feel free to mock me I deserve it.

Paging Sean Spicer! We need some alternative facts here, stat to bolster my history. I have only been to one game at the Saddledome (vs LA when Tkachuk elbowed Doughty). I have seen a few at Rexall and my record was also perfect.
really proud of the team for overcoming adversity and turning the season around.
it looked like it was going to be a painful season following prospects (this time in a weak draft year), arguing over whether real fans cheer for the team to lose, and questioning our young core. i didn't call for gulutzan to be fired and they were getting much better in the underlying metrics but the season was still depressing to follow.
since then, they've taken huge steps in improving their play as a team and in every zone. i am very excited to see how these guys do in the playoffs. the best part is that this team still has so much room to grow.

Honestly, I think he's the Flames best player. It might not stay that way with all the youth up front growing up, but at this moment I think Hamilton is our best player.

We need more of this. The look on Bennett's face when he was given the hat, priceless, and the team's happy pride, the total sense of accomplishment in the room, hard won.

I think that title still goes to Johnny but I think Hamilton will be the most valuable player long term for this team. He will be one of the league's best defensemen for a very long time.
