GULU - Ugandan Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi launched Saturday an online response to a viral campaign to arrest rebel commander Joseph Kony to counter the "false impression" that the country is in conflict.
In a video broadcast on YouTube, and in a flurry of messages posted on Twitter, Mbabazi invited 20 celebrities including Hollywood or music stars such as Angelina Jolie, George Clooney, Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga and Rihanna.
"As PM (Prime Minister) of Uganda, I appreciate your interest and invite you to visit. We have peace, stability and great people" he wrote in a tweet to celebrities, using the tag #KonyisntinUganda.
Quote:
"It is particularly welcome to see so many young people uniting across barriers of nation, race, religion and culture to take a stand for justice, I salute you and I thank you," Mbabazi said in the video.
"I extend the invitation not just to the 20 celebrities, but to you all - come and see Uganda for yourself - you will find a very different place to that portrayed by Invisible Children," he added.
"Right now you're watching a video of me outdoors in California interspersed with pictures of the effect Joseph Kony had on the people of Uganda. I put the two together because I know a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down".
HaHa. She's different.....I'll give 'er that!

Reason: added NSFW tags just in case

I can't help but think that the video above doesn't really help. Hands up how many of us fast frowarded through the dialogue and the pictures and stuff just to see naughty bits
Anyone with their hands down is lying.

I'll be happy if one of the celebrities (if you can call em that) can make a video that goes back 20-30 years explaining who Kony is and where he came from.
We all know (now) what he has done and nobody is going to give him a free pass on that one, but why did he do it to begin with???
Jason Russell's view on homosexuality might be that far away, or not, after watching some of videos he needs to come out of the closet.
There is no doubt Jason Russell is gay. I found it interesting his wife's only appearance in the video was when she was giving birth.
However I am talking about the PM of Uganda. I thought they believed that homosexuals should be tortured and chopped up with machetes. You know your regular civilized African ideologies.

I think the one to propose the bill was Bahati, who introduced it as a Private Member's Bill. I don't recall if Mbabazi had anything to do with it.
I believe the police confirmed he was not on any illicit substances nor intoxicated, but I'd have to think that it's caused by some extreme bi-polar episode, no?
