These pictures and videos are so surreal. I live in the far north, and work right off Deerfoot and Mcknight, so it feels like a normal day for me. Heck, the drive into work this morning was like a Sunday drive since no one was taking centre street to go to downtown.
Our office in Manchester was shut down and everyone sent home early. They figure while things are ok now for most people, the roads may not be so good later on today.
It's really bizarre seeing all these images, and yet everywhere I've been today it appears as if its a normal day.
Meanwhile, I've got to figure out a way to pick my mother up from the airport later tonight coming from the south.
Get over to Stoney as far south as its open and take that (avoid Deerfoot)

Dude when it comes to the Canucks, it could be a team of Adolf Hitler, Pol Pot, Augusto Pinochet, Josef Stalin and Kim Jong Il and if one of them scores against the Canucks you take it.
wow, my 2 bosses sent a "business as usual" email this morning... then stayed home themselves. hilarious.
I work in Bowness at 5am and the power was off and we couldn't get into the store so we all went home. Phoned the store at 7 to see if everything was back up and running and it was. The boss was trying to give direction to other ways to the store. For me, it's not worth the hour long drive to detour all the other traffic from McKenzie.
It is just awful what is happening in Calgary. Downstream of the city, though it would not effect nearly as many people the flooding could be just as bad. I havent heard anything yet but Med Hat is probably really in for it again to as the Bow and Old Man are are both over capacity.

County of #Lethbridge says Highwood River has spilled into Bow River. Little Bow Dam has to release 10 times historical flow rates

Holy s###, this is unreal.
Thanks for all the updates and pics. Hope there are no casualties, and no fools getting caught by going too close to the rivers.
The Calgary Zoo
9:30am Update: Due to the continuing flood situation, the Calgary Zoo will remain closed Friday, Saturday and Sunday. We will update on Sunday afternoon whether the zoo will open on Monday. We confirm there is flooding on the park, but so far all animals are secure and the situation continues to be monitored by animal care staff. Please continue to check here for further updates.
My wife said to me since I stayed at home and all the schools are closed that maybe I should go do something fun today with our daughter.
