No. Only contracts signed before the 2013 CBA are subject to recapture penalties (and only those longer than 6 years).
With the Suter and Parise buyouts, most of the worst ones are done, except for Weber's.
This is the final year of Jeff Carter's contract; Keith and Quick's end after next season; Crosby has 4 years left on his; and Weber has 5 more years. Those are the only contracts left that could have any recapture penalties against them.

Pretty sure no. That contract was signed after they changed the contract rules and recapture was no longer applicable at that point. Hope I'm wrong because that would be the cherry on top but I don't think so.

Jack Eichel was actually poking around here earlier today. He saw the thread you made about Treliving and then told the Sabres that if they tried to trade him to Calgary he wouldn't report and would just retire.
Good job.

You'd probably be looking at $7-$7.5M for an extension after that though.
In 2022-2023 you'd be looking at moving Lucic to Arizona in the offseason (or hoping he retires)
and that's how you afford the extensions to Parayko, Mangiapane, and Johnny.

The above is quoted randomly and could just as easily be any similar post with dazzling numbers.
At the same time that I was browsing through this and other threads about the decision making process on contract signings,
I was also looking at a game story I wrote late in the 1967-1968 expansion season after a Minnesota North Stars' game.
From March 7, 1968.....
"Minnesota is healthy but the roster remains one skater short. General Manager Wren Blair, said that he is keeping the spot open
with the hope of enticing amateur D-Lou Nanne, a former standout at the University of Minnesota, to sign a contract and immediately join the team.
Nanne just completed his commitment to the U.S. National team with his participation at the Olympic games in Grenoble, France.
However, there is doubt about his interest in signing because of his profitable sales position at Mackay Envelope Company in Minneapolis."
Something changed in the interim and I'm the oldest person on earth.

Meh that offer isn't great. Kravtsov hasn't developed well. Zac Jones is meh. Georgiev is a back up and the first rounder will be a late one.

This makes me think that the Flames have a way better offer if it's Monahan,1st, zary and dube.

That's an offer I could live with. And it's a solid package too given the circumstance.

Monahan, 1st, Zary, and Dube is too much. Eichel better be guaranteed to be 100% if we offer that. Take out Zary or the 1st or Dube and the offer is still better than the Rangers’.

I think this is what I'd offer. I'd like to offer less on the young side or prospects, but I think that's what buffalo covets most. The Monahan part let's the team sign big Z and add another solid D man.
Can't afford Monahan as a 3rd line center unless backlund goes and that's not likely. I definitely would like to see lindholm as the 2nd C.

it makes me think that their offer is no where near that (or we would be by far the front runners)
the proposals posted in here (Tkachuk + Valimaki + 2 1sts, for example) have been WAY too much

They just made more cap room moving Reaves.
But what do they have in regards to young prospects and picks?
