Does that mean she is home safe now? If so, good to hear. If not, my contingency plan is to take Deerfoot to Dunbow to MacLeod to get around it. The bridge over the Bow just south of city limits is quite tall so should be alright.

It's frustrating, here in San Francisco, trying to find updates.

Then again, it is 2013, the internet provides all the updates one would need, and NYC flooding was an american city, and the american new networks are... American.

I don't blame them for not covering it more then the odd flash on CNN, they are American national news networks (not referring to CNN international of course, different argument there).

Thanks to all who update here for us out of town, stay safe please!

I'm in my home now, but about to leave again. My place is totally dry ... I'm amazed, shocked and amazed. These pump crews here in Sunnyside saved a ton of homes.

My brother in law's house is completely flooded in high river, being the good guy he is, rather than try to save all of his stuff he was out in his boat yesterday rescuing others....

Fortunately he and his family are safe and have a place to stay.

The city has declared a state of emergency and the mayor has advised all citizens to stay home (or go to a safe place if their home is in an evac zone). Tell your bosses to pound sand.

That's far too polite of a reply imo

From the pictures that got posted about the Dome, it appears the old steel and wood pedestrian bridge which is/was directly east of the Saddledome got swept away.

After a quick jaunt to the grocery store, I suspect it won't be an issue.

It's hard to imagine that the entire east side of the city could get cut off from the west, but it's not unfathomable today, even if unlikey.

Regardless, better safe than sorry.

How are you guys holding up? I'm seeing a steady stream of pictures on Facebook and Twitter of the flood. Any casualties?
