Maybe it was the GMs of the teams of the players selected to play for Canada. They wanted their players to return well-rested from the WJCs.

They were outscoring defensive problems.

Crazy stat since 1982, Sweden has 1 gold, 11 silvers and 5 bronze. And a lot of those silvers, they went undefeated until the final.
The only gold? Sweden beat Russia 1-0 in overtime in 2012, a Zibenajad winner in the Saddledome.

The panel on HIC comparing us to the U.S. population & how do we expect to win. I may be wrong but I thought we were beaten by Latvia (pop. 2 million). That loss put us in the position where we had to play Czechia (pop. 10 million) in the 1/4s. By the panel's logic, with 35 million people, that should never have happened. Social media pressure was the problem???? Make them turn in their smart phones. Exhaustion???? Why, did all those non practices burn them out? Any way you cut it, lack of discipline, combined with poor coaching was the problem.
