Could be a good bowl season for the MWC with wyoming and BYU already winners, and Utah and Air force with big games too.

The reason he stepped down was because of health issues.
Quote:
“I have given my heart and soul to coaching college football and mentoring young men for the last 24-plus years and I have dedicated most of my waking moments the last five years to the Gator football program,” Meyer said in a statement. “I have ignored my health for years, but recent developments have forced me to re-evaluate my priorities of faith and family.”
|
Quote:
"After consulting with my family, Dr. Machen, Jeremy Foley and my doctors, I believe it is in my best interest to step aside and focus on my health and family.
"I'm proud to be a part of the Gainesville community and the Gator Nation and I plan to remain in Gainesville and involved with the University of Florida.
"I'm very appreciative for the opportunity I've had to be a part of a tremendous institution - from Dr. Machen to Jeremy Foley and the entire administrative staff at UF. I'm also very thankful for the chance to work with some of the best assistants in college football and coach some of the best college football players and watch them grow both on and off the field as people. I will cherish the relationships with them the most."

Doubtful. The only job he could of possibly wanted was Notre Dame and it's filled. I doubt he would go to the NFL. They said he would still have a job at Florida just not head coach.

I was thinking either him, or Dan Mullen (our ex offensive coordinator left last year)
Charlie hasn't signed a contract yet with UL. Plus hes already on campus and ready to go. I think it would be outstanding.

As someone who hates Florida I hope that Strong can get out of his deal with Louisville and takes over.

I have alot of respect for Bobby and wish him well. ( I really like him) but he needs to right the ship in Norman. He is not our answer.
I think whittingham would be another great choice.
Meyer isn't leaving the program. So hes gonna need someone that is willing to let him kinda stand over them.

Yeah losing your Jesus and his daddy will be tough to swallow for next years team .... looks like maybe my middle of the pack statement I made last week might come to fruition. I am obviously just razzing you with the jesus and daddy comment . Dont get mad!
I dont think Bob would go back , Ou pays him almost 2 million more than ole urb.
However I am glad a prominent name decides to step back and realize his health and family are bigger than his job and career. Respect to Urb, a hell of a coach and hopefully he will get it straightened out and be back coaching soon.

Bob is getting 6 mill a year?
He didn't quit the school. He just stepped down as the head football coach. A couple of sites say this is just a two year interim deal. Urb will have heart surgery and be back once hes healthy. I hope he doesn't go back to coaching unless he is 200%. Something seemed lacking out of him this year and maybe this explains it.
love him or hate him you have to respect the man for what he has done.
