Delta runs big operations in New York and Minneapolis. A very easy routing from the NY area to Calgary would include plenty of options that connect through Minneapolis. I wasn't suggesting that Treliving wouldn't ever fly commercial. Sorry if that's was unclear. The first report suggested he flew a charter. And the Flames have lots of inside charter connections. Also, since the flight times would be so uncertain, a charter is more likely.
But I'm obviously not sure about any of it since the first reports were wrong in some respects as well. But assuming he was in first class, there'd be little opportunity to sit and discuss anything with a random passenger, since he'd be sitting only with Treliving.
Someone also suggested Burke is a loose cannon and any attendance by him was bad news. There's no evidence Burke is bad in negotiations.

Now this thread is delivering! Mods should have let him post once more to educate us of his superior knowledge. Not having closure makes me feel a little bummed like how Treliving left NY without a deal announced.
