Nothing has happened that would give cause for either side to have a sour taste in their mouth.
And I would think that would be blatantly obvious to any professional negotiator.

I am willing to bet that Treliving, being the ultra well prepared man he is, has thoroughly researched Gross' history and modus operandi. When it became apparent that he had an unrealistic ask, he knew that it was going to go until the 11th hour or beyond.
It wouldn't surprise me if at that point he decided to just let Lewis stew, instead of negotiating against himself. If Gross was going to be waiting until the start of the season anyway, no point in playing his game. Instead put the time pressure back on him, and let the Gaudreau's make him answer to them how he's handling things.

Lightly speaking.

Did Treliving ever deal with Gross before? Aside from, I guess, when they signed Johnny the first time.

So just saw Connie on the intermission from a link on Twitter; mildly reassuring comments saying they're working on it and he said that they're going to do something "hopefully in the next few days or week....".
Guess we'll see.

And he also said that Brad and Gross have been talking and that Gross and Johnny are looking at the contract. It looks like maybe Friedman "misheard" something Gross said about no communication.

I think your assessment is spot on. Makes fans bitter by playing on everyone's fears. I remember how excited every one was to get the season started. Gaudreauvertime continues act the role of a troll implying the sky is falling, the relationship is strained...

Hey at least sh** is happening. Better than twiddling our thumbs and getting pissed. Likely things are going to happen soon.

Treliving has not spoken to Gaudreau's agent since September 9th. I am glad one side finally divulged something truthful. Treliving is still not talking to Gaudreau's agent and this is good. No this is not negotiating.

Well, then he -- or his agent -- should learn the definition of insanity.
