Because Raps management says they don't like any of Miami's players. A new article today states that Toronto would do a sign and trade to Cleveland, but it's Bosh that is holding that up as he wants Miami, Chicago or NJ.

Hawks are offering Shaq a 2 year deal. I think this could possibly push them to contender status as it would move Horford into a more natural PF spot and Smith can easily play the 3. Williams might complain about coming off the bench but honestly who cares? He isn't that great.
Edit: I am glad to see that Sund is doing exactly what I thought he should do and pursue a true center.

The trade exception is still available, but yes, it appears BC doesn't want Beasley or Chalmers.

Trade Exception and the Raps own draft pick are basically the only meaningful assets that Miami has. Still better than nothing, though. It worries me to hear the talk about a sign and trade to Cleveland. I don't see anyone on that roster that I want on the Raptors (except James, of course). Only way I see that working is if we can ditch Turk as well, and then flip Hickson and Verajao to a third team for a wing player. Wouldn't mind seeing Danny Green included as well.
I really think Cleveland should set their sights on Boozer. He'd be the second most talented player on the Cavs roster (and is in my opinion more of a proven winner than Bosh), and would be easier to acquire. I've said on here before, I think James wants to stay in Cleveland, but he needs them to pick up one more proven scorer first.
Sign and trade to Chicago is apparently hung up over Noah... no surprise there. If Bosh goes to Chicago and Noah leaves, then Bosh is back to playing center.

I thought James was trying to convince Bosh to sign with him in Cleveland?

Edit: Although, it appears he doesn't want to unless they have a legit C so he can stay in his PF spot. What an idiot.

Ya there would be a glut at PF if the Cleveland S&T were agreed upon. Davis, Bargnani, Hickson, and Varejao? That trade is useless to the Raps as is.
Got to think BC already has a plan to flip assets elsewhere to get a wing player if that's the case.
Ideal scenario is Noah but Chicago is being pretty stingy about that. Taj Gibson and 1st round picks (likely very late first round picks) are not that appealing at this point.

So Lebron is going to make his announcement thursday with an hour long special on ESPN he's requested. The only thing that keeps me from breaking my computer when reading this, is that his reps and him have asked that the sponsorships be sold to the boys and girls club of America.

^ The publicity and stuff annoy the hell out of me, but now I just don't care. I just won't watch. My guess now is he's going back to Cleveland.

Elliot Freedman of all people had a great tweet today
"This NBA free agency is embarrassing. The greatest players of past three decades -- Jordan, Johnson, Bird, Bryant -- never acted like this."
Looks like it's Bosh and Wade to Miami. I now have my new most hated team

I can't imagine Lebron is hosting a 1 hour special on ESPN to announce he's leaving Cleveland.
Potentially...after it's all said and done, Wade and James to stay in the cities where it all began, and Bosh will play piggy back with Wade. Gotta hope for the S&T at this point.
From a PR standpoint, I can't imagine how BC can afford to lose Bosh for nothing.

Sounds like Bosh and Wade may announce their intent to sign with Miami today. If so, the question for the Raps then become whether they'll do a sign and trade. But it's pretty much a worst case scenario for them. I would be so pissed off if we didn't at least get our first-rounder back (it's lottery-protected for next year, but still, just on principle).

Definitely will be cheering against Miami this season. I wonder who Lebron thinks will come help the Cavs if he does indeed stay.

A lot of rumours coming out he's going to New York. I'm just not sure how Cleveland could attract free agents to be honest.
