iPhone/iPod touch Must Have Apps

hey good catch! I downloaded the update for it yesterday but didn't notice it in the release notes. That should calm the Saskatchewanians down a little!

I like the timmyme app better when it was called "open maps and search for tim hortons". Hell, after you search for it once you only need to type "t" and it'll be there!

Hey I did the maps search thing too. I even have the google app that searched for nearest locations of anything I type in... But there's nothing wrong with just clicking on one button to find the nearest Tims, instead of 8.

Especially when I'm driving around Cranbrook trying to figure out how a town that small was able to hide their Tim Hortons so well.

This is like that TD commercial with the two old guys on the bench saying, "What was wrong with the old days? Every time you went to a bank it was closed. Now they're open all day, every day. Weekends too! Bah! Teenagers!"

On an odd note, my VNC app that you so awesomely pointed out to me is now missing. Can't even redownload it from the app store as it just says "installed" (which leads me to believe I didn't accidentally delete it).

edit: nevermind, just had to give the phone a reboot. That was strange.

If anybody is interested, Tris (a game almost identical to Tetris) is being pulled from the app store on wednesday. If you want it ... get it now.

Also looks like jailbroken iphones can get 2 video recording applications:

download 2.0.2 firmware here (make sure you get the right one iphone and iphone 3g are different) http://www.felixbruns.de/iPod/firmware/

plugin your iphone, open itunes, shift+click update, find the file you just downloaded, let it upgrade your iphone. Then close itunes, go to task manager and end ipodservices ituneshelper and anything other apple related processes, open quickpwn (http://xs1.iphwn.org/releases/QuickPwnGUI150.zip) and follow the instructions.
