I don't know how many times I've been on Hwy 2 when a cop is on there doing 110 (yeah, it happens), and *everyone* is falling in line behind him. I come along, at 115-120, eventually pass the cop, who doesn't care, and the 40 cars all piled up start to file around him, suddenly realizing that a cop on the highway is not going to pull someone over for 5-10 over. It's not worth his effort.

And the safest thing to do (in my humble opinion) is to let the speeding individual through by moving over to the right lane when its safe to do so. Either way the guy's going to go around you. You might as well make it safe for yourself. It's just defensive driving.

I completely agree. It's going to happen, so just make it as safe as possible.

What they really need is more police traveling in regular vehicles looking out for the real jackasses who put everyone in danger. The people who aren't paying attention to the road (cell phones, text message, dvd, ect.) record there driving and then have a marked car pull them over a few miles down the road. Those are the people that really need the tickets.
