Their gaps are fine….
They gave up a PP goal and arguably a goal that should have been stopped.
Overall, they defended the rush well.

I don't mind them sitting Zane for this game. It's playing Jake Bean that's the problem. He shouldn't even be on the roster.

Bean getting outworked by Eatbread leading to the goal was the highlight of that period.
Diss with the putter toss!

Roslovic is a good signing for the Oilers. Must be playing for free.

Can let Miro as the designated popcorn guy slide, but Bean over the kids? Nah.

Huska playing Gridin 3:39 in the 1st period, after being the only player to generate a chance is also a super cool choice.
Going to be interesting to watch Huska’s utilization of players this season. Will tell me a lot about the quality of coach/whether he is going to be a coach that can grow with the team.
He has to embrace the young players. He has to. I’m intrigued to see how it plays out.

Well I'm not going to argue too much on that point. I don't think he's as terrible as some say, but he's also not great. Very replaceable piece. Who knows maybe Zayne takes his spot next game and holds onto it.

I respect what he got out of them last year, but some of his decisions make no goddamn sense.

PK and PP disrupted the lines. Matvei is on neither.
I would not read so much into it.

So basically no one would take him so he circled back to the coil, what a piece.

Oilers sign another forward. Lol. Can’t make this up.
Luke ‘oiler bro’ Gazdic and SN panel 100% oilers content on the break.

Amazing seasons by goalies always garner the coach more respect than they actually earned.
Last year’s success, I put first and foremost on Wolf.
This is Huska’s year to show he can help young players develop and improve.

In a period that saw 2 penalties, that’s a fairly weak point in my eyes.
We’ll see how this goes, I don’t mean to be too harsh on him. I don’t like some of his choices, but to me Huska is one of the more intriguing components of this season. I hope we don’t see him over-rely on veterans, I think it’d be awesome to see him embrace the youth.

Almost all players from last year and long pre season, but the team still plays like they play each other first time. Hope they tide up their play and out work the losers

The Flames look completely lost. Never seen so many lost coverages in one period, brutal.

Here from the Jays game, how do the Flames look? I'm honestly a little surprised it's only 2-0.
