I think his reputation took that penalty. NHL refs are (still) a joke.
It looked like he tipped the puck on goal from just outside the crease, Dunn cross checked him high to move Marty, and Marty retaliated. That should be 50/50.
Player has to defend himself.

There's almost 0 chance Girdin makes it on the big club this year just because of the numbers.
But every game he's been in he's making plays, scoring or just in the right positions time and time again.
I'd say he the surprise of the pre-season for me personally, I think he's done everything he could have to push for a spot.
