The other three maybe didn't give him a clear answer at the time, and he let them use the summer to figure it out, instead of pursuing trade opportunities on all of them a little more urgently, and that could come back and bite him.
How do we know how diligently he pursued trades? The market seemed pretty soft.

Totally agree. Not sure he is the right guy but we gave BT years to trade away picks and diminish the pipeline along with signing old UFA’s. Need to give Conroy some time to fix this mess.

Usually when you go all in and lose you go home with nothing

Treliving went all in twice

There is nothing left. Conroy is just the janitor. They’ll find a real GM when they compete again.

I’m confident in Craig Conroy. Despite being in a terrible position, he has not panicked. He has been patient and careful.

The Toffoli trade might not look amazing right now, but Conroy got futures and refused to sign an aging player to a long-term contract. Overall, I’m happy with that, even if I had hoped for better futures initially, until I realized how poor the market was for sellers this past offseason.

The Backlund AAV looks very reasonable, and again, Conroy didn’t sign an aging player long-term.

Toffoli has 9 points yes but that doesn't mean he would have 9 here. He wanted a long term deal or a trade

Door #2 please

This. He has Jack Hughes feeding him the puck. There's no way he has 6 goals right now playing with the current versions of Huberdeau and Kadri

He has really had no choice.

There were little deals out there if you were trading cap.

Plus someone had to go to meet cap, Toffoli was the one.

Conroy was dealt a #### sandwich to begin with. Not sure there's anything he could've done differently so far. And if he chooses to extend the remaining UFAs it's because of the ownership.

Well, you really want him up here right now? Markstroms been fine and that hasnt helped the results.

Yeah, I’m about 5 straight losses away from being ready to start selling Lindholm, Hanifin, Markstrom etc…for younger players/futures and call up Wolf/Zary.

He allowed 6 goals one game but the Wranglers scored 7

Unlikely he would be able to win with the 0-2 the Flames have been scoring

Goaltending isn’t really the problem right now but let’s not minimize how well Wolf is playing. .921 save percentage even with allowing six goals in one game. Wranglers have been outshot in every game he has won.
