We can look back and argue that we lost points here and there because of Smith, but I really think Peters handled the goalie situation correctly.
By giving Smith s chance to find his game and easing Rittich slowly, but surely into the starter position he was able to build confidence, trust himself, and establish his position on the team. I think we have a number one here. Another unbelievable find by Treliving.
Trade for Howard at the deadline for insurance and I’m completely comfortable with our team heading into the last quarter of the season. Awesome.

I am still laughing about the seat change.
And Jason York is a pro. Always enjoy his commentary.

Yes, his miscue today almost cost the team two points, but he's been coming up big for the team all year so I'm happy they were able to get him the win today.
Wait, did you say frog?

A 1-2 punch of Hrudey and Jason York(fill in when Kelly isn't available) for the flames as colour analysts would be grand. To go along with Rick Ball as the pbp. Or in the event Hrudey is summoned elsewhere, York should be the next in line full time.
|
I'd prefer him over Hrudey right now to be honest. Hrudey and Rick have a nice back and forth, but I find Hrudey stumbles his way through points trying to find the words.

Flames currently sitting 1st in the west and 2nd overall. Man, I'm enjoying the hell out of this. This team could really do some damage this year.

Yep, and the knock on is that it reunites Brodano, and he has helped Hamonic be better because of the fit. One of the best Flames trades ever.

I like the.both. But I hear you on your sentiments. I said either one works for me. Which is why I truly hope Sportsnet gives us either one on any given game telecast. I'd like to see York as the main backup to Hrudey being Kelly isn't going anywhere for now.
Then if Hrudey ever moves on, slide Jason York in as our main guy after.

Awesome win! So amazing to have a team that you just know will turn it on in the 3rd. Fun stuff to see!
Huge backcheck by Backlund in OT right before the winner. Play of the game. He came right off the bench and stick checked the Flyer's skater who had a straight line to the net. Puck turns over and the Flames win. Good job by Backs.
How fun is it to see TJ Brodie go from zero the past couple seasons, to hero presently. What a turn around he's made this season. I'm so glad the team held onto him and gave him another chance with Gio.
Guy Gaudreau is awesome. Best hockey Dad ever!
