Really liking Rittich here. He's very efficient with his movement.

0-1 isn't the end of the world but this team is similar to last year's team in that they are one of the least opportunistic teams in the league. So many scoring chances end up being harmless misses or shots into the goaltenders equipment. The Sabres come back with a chance and it's a beautiful snipe.

Sitting right where that hit happened - looked to be either shoulder or ribs. Weird contact.

Really good period by the Flames. One bad bounce/mistake, unfortunate. Although the prime chances against still definitely need to be cut back. Too many silly mistakes.

Jankowski looks to be a little off his game. I imagine the more he plays, he’ll get through it.

Yeah it looks like maybe in the offseason the officials went over some players of focus as he's not getting calls even when they are legit.

Housley is really getting the matchups he wants which happens when you’re at home but Jankowski and his line has to be better against Eichler line.

They need to learn how to adjust quicker.

Pretty much had their way with Toronto, owning every part of the ice. Now Buffalo is doing a good job of contesting their breakouts. Just bad decisions and lack of execution.

You can tell they want to push the pace and transition as fast as possible, but Buffalo is doing a better job of defending the neutral zone.

Need to adjust.

jankowski has looked off this whole season. they're playing like they're asleep when trying to exit the zone. the sabres had nothing except gifts from the flames. if they don't clean up the neutral zone play it's going to get worse

This particular part of the schedule has been particularly difficult. I was just hoping to scratch out a point against a much improved Sabres team.

Hanifin is a mentally weak player. When he makes a mistake he gets in his own head and starts skating around directly at the puck to try and get it back instead of getting back into position.

Mentally weak player? After 12 games you have come to that conclusion? Really? Has it dawned on you at 21 years old he's still got a few things to learn?

So many times posters here are determined not to like a player, sometimes before they even play. Because they liked the player who was traded in exchange, or they hated that picks were traded away, or they were not who the poster wanted in the draft. Anyone that can make sweeping comments about a new player this early probably made up their mind pre-season.

Hanifin looks great imo.

Makes mistakes but does so many things quietly. At 21 he is still filling out even.

Love hanifin so far. All the best parts of Bouwmeesters game.
