Americans look sharp early. Might be tough for Nestor in particular to get up for this match.

Nestor has a gold already and Pospisil's form is quite lacking. Americans are hungrier too.

Gotta give credit to Sock and Johnson, they were fully deserving of the win as they played a great match.

Well the 2020 final between Felix and Denis will make up for this disappointing go round.

Del Potro can't hold his nerve, don't think he'll win now after blowing that 0-40 chance.

Well remember we got that epic 19-17 third set in 2012 between Federer and Del Potro. But now they do third set breaker because of that and when Milos and Tsonga I think went 24-22 third set.

So I stopped following the womens doubles after the Canadians were out, but this is from the semi-final last night. Hlavackova and Hradecka have match point in the 2nd set against Hingis and Bacsinszky, and then this happens...

https://twitter.com/birdy87/status/764270919615471616

And from there Hingis and Bacsinsky proceed to turn it around and win the match. The face smash that changed the match.

Puig wins gold. Long last point to close out on Kerber. 5th AD Puig and Kerber must have had 8 or 9 chances to break.
