They are trying to protect the younger players.

Glencross-Monahan-Bouma are going out against the other teams top lines, with heavy defensive minutes.

Putting Ferland, Baertschi, Gaudreau on that line makes no sense right now. If Baertschi wants more minutes he has to outplay Gaudreau, Hudler, or Byron, simple as that.

That third goal was a heartbreaker, we can't keep giving away a cheap goal a game. But man, I love that heads didn't drop and we fought until the end.

A couple of seasons ago, that would have been one ugly third period.

It scares me that our play in those first two periods and the first two periods in the last couple of games are exactly how I expected the Flames to play this season when the expectation was to be a lottery team. I feel like that is the direction we're trending in.
