I love how when teams lose to us they automatically think they're mcdavid bound.

"Oh, we lost to the flames. We're the worst team in the league"

Truth of the matter is we're going to come out to play every night and if a team doesn't match our work ethic we're going to win more than we lose.

Has nothing to do with that. Has to do with 1 win in 5 games and really poor hockey. And a really exciting generational talent. I think people are realizing how hard working the Flames are.

Yeah... Bouma is a leader. He deserves the A a lot more than Glencross does. I can't see them taking the A away from Glencross but they should think about giving a second A to Bouma. The guy plays with all his heart every game.

Can someone give me a Coles' Notes as to what was said towards the Flames/Gaudreau? Couldn't catch the game...

Sorry I just remembered someone saying the Jets were on the verge of being elite. How could anyone think that team was on the verge of being an elite team in the NHL?

Remember in the fading years of the Iginla Era when the team would have great 1st periods and slowly deflate through the rest of the game usually ending up in a disappointing loss? sometime making the odd really exciting rally from behind late in the third?

I like this new suck in the 1st and turn it on for the rest of the game direction they're heading in. True grit and determination not to let a bad period get to them and earn the W has paid off in spades so far in the early part of the season. Once they Iron out those pesky first periods, this team won't be one to trifle with.

I already suspect the Flames won't be seeing many back up goalies this year. Teams know they're going to have to earn every point they get against these Flames. I like it.

Was at the game tonight and the Jets fans were silenced for the second half of the game and started leaving pretty early.

What a terrific bounce back for the team and a solid performance by Hiller.

Wideman had the best game I've seen from him in...a Flames uniform.

I think Gaudreau saved himself from an AHL assignment tonight. Expect to see another game from Jooris. Setoguchi looks like the odd man out -- his ice-time diminished as the game went on.

Talking about the Brodie extension, want to see one for Russell, too. And of course, the Captain.

Still don't like Colborne at center.

Based on what Hartley said it seems that teams come at us with pressure in the first. The reason is probably because they think their experience can beat our energy when they are the most fresh, as Hartley said the plan is to weather the storm and survive the pressure with a minimal deficit.

I read and hear people talking about full 60 minute games but it's impossible to play with 100% intensity the entire game as it would lead to exhaustion halfway through the game. Today was one of the most well coached games we've had in a long time.

Also it was important that Hiller kept us in it in the first, had we been down 3-0 in the first we may have not come back to win. Seems like once Hartley saw the Jets pressing hard in the first he adopted a kind of rope-a-dope style where we wait until the momentum naturally shifts and in that moment the team started to apply pressure and the game completely changed.

All I can say is... if the Kansas City Royals can go 8 games undefeated to get a berth in the World Series as I have watched them do the past two weeks... I say the Calgary Flames can make the playoffs this year and do very well. I predict Flames make the playoffs- and I believe that.

That's my story and I am sticking to it. GFG!!

What?!?! I think an overzealous celebration, sliding to center ice on his knees, pumping his fists would've been a more appropriate reaction. In all seriousness, this is why watching a game or two from the pressbox for a rookie is not the end of the world.

Thought this to myself a few times tonight too. Under fire in his own zone, just calmly skates away, brilliant pass to exit the zone. Who would've thought an undrafted player and a 4th rounder would be an elite pair. Thanks again Darryl.

Haha... Justin Shultz is 86th with 1 pt and a minus 5 in the +/- column.

Edmonton is just no good.

I thought Gaudreau banked that wrap-around in off the goaltender. I was wrong.

Wow. I have no idea how he was able to get the puck to curl like that from that position so quickly. Just unbelievable hands.

He basically said that with 1 shot in 5 games Gaudreau didn't deserve the name Johnny Hockey.

Basically slammed his Johnny Hockey nickname saying he hasn't done anything to deserve that moniker.
