if Derek Carr doesnt start next week I want the whole Oakland coaching staff let go

hes got nothing else to learn on the bench, outplayed Schaub every game of pre-season (even the 3rd where he didnt play with injury)

Aldon Smith is suspended the first 9 games.

A suspension was full expected, but there was some question if it would be shorter (4-6 games) since he voluntarily missed 5 games last year to go to rehab.

9 games is a slight overreaction to screwing up Ray Rice so badly, but Smith is a bit of a headcase and sort of a criminal so 9 games isn't unexpected.

I like Oaklands roster this season

As someone who doesnt follow them all that closely, what's the plan with MJJ and McFadden? Are they planning on splitting time or is one a clear cut #1 over the other?

MJD will start but I think it will be a time share somewhat for the times McFadden is healthy, Latavius Murray probably gets a couple of carries per game too

I would guess something around 60/30/10 at least to start the year

I hear the Raiders were quite high on Korey Sheets too, too bad he suffered that season-ending injury in TC. Always like it when former CFL'ers make it down south (even stinkin ex-Riders).

Alex Smith 4 yr 68 million extension

Yeah, 45 million guaranteed. Pretty much makes him the starter for two years after this one. He is a solid QB though, will be a tough year for him this year. But with a good line and some decent skill players he can run a pretty good offence.

Derek Carr officially named Raiders starter. Given Schaub's tendinitis and Carr torching the Seahawks starting defense for two TD's this probably wasn't that hard of a decision.
